1864 Deck Questions

Hi all. I'm sure I'm the 10000000th person to ask this. Will a 44c deck fit under the 1864? I don't want a 54" deck on it. Thanks in advance.

I am sure others will chime in, but I did have an 1863 with a 44" deck on it. That is what was on it when I purchased it. You just have to figger out what you have, what it was originally on, find what you need to make it work, and go from there.

It was on a 582, comes with mule drive. Guy wants $100 for it all.

Not a thing. It doesn't fit between my fence and by house to get to my back yard.

I have a 54 on mine. The attachments show 44 thru 54. Remodel the gate, widen it.

It sounds like he may have to move his house or a fence line as well to fit it through an aisle to get to the back yard.

48" bit tight but would probably work. I don't want to get rid of my 54".

I can't remodel the gate. Cost way more than a mower deck.

Store the deck in the wide-open mowing area, and put it on and take it off every mowing. You’ll be amazed how quick you get at changing it...

It will work. Get the mule drive too. Just as the info Lew gave you, there will some parts to change out. I would swap the pulley on the deck to the same size as the 54". You probably need a different belt as well. No sure, but you will probably have to modify the belt cover if it has one.

How wide is your gate opening? A 44" deck is ~52" overall width.

you'll need the mule drive and undercarriage for a 1864. One from a 82 series won't work. The deck pulley will need to be for an 1864 as well.
