    Trans oil change

Planning to change the oil in the transmission on my 122. No luck finding Hy Tran locally. Manual says can use 30 wt oil. Anyone with experience using 30 wt versus Hy Tran?

How Difficult to Replace Wiring Harness

I have a new wiring harness for my 122 and want to get it installed. The tractor is up and running so no issues. It looks like most of the wiring is as from the factory though some colors suggests segments have been replaced. How difficult is replacing the wiring harness for a complete novice...

    Xtreme Motorworks

I was on the website Xtreme Motorworks yesterday planning to place an order today. Today message states the "account has been suspended." Does anyone know if there is an alternate way to contact this vendor or if they may be out of business?

    Wiring

Thankfully no issue known. My 122 from the best I can determine has original wiring. I plan to replace the wiring harness. Should I replace positive and negative battery cables and spark plug wire at the same time?

    The Next IH Cub Cadet

I have a 122 which does all I need it to do. I am thinking of adding a narrow frame tractor with hydrostatic tranny which would be one of these models (if I did my research accurately) : 105, 107, 123, 125, 127, or 147 . Definitely want to stay IH not CCC. It would be a light workhorse. No...

    A Disappointment

A local seller offered a 127 for sale as "restored." I would like a hydro narrow frame so I thought I had found a possibility. Stated he had gotten the tractor as sandblasted parts on 2 pallets at an auction. All parts were with it according to seller. Started and ran good. Way louder than my...

    Need Help with a 122

I have a 122 I got from a fellow who gets them running and looking decent but admits he is not a restorer. I am at best a neophyte when it comes to things mechanical. I can remove a broken part and replace it, but that is about it. The tractor is missing a piece or pieces underneath to operate...

    Battery cut off switch

Anyone using a battery cut-off switch on your older Cub Cadets? If so, what kind or brand?

    122 Gauge

The 1967 122 I recently purchased has a voltmeter in the dash that is not working. Did this model come with a voltmeter or with an ammeter? I'd like to replace it with the correct item and get it wired correctly. I have not taken the battery out yet to get a good look to see if it is even wired.

Ag tread tires for 122 rear

Is there a good place that is reasonable price to purchase ad tread tires 23x8.5-12 that are USA made for my 122?

    100 or 122

I am to look at a 100 and a 122 next week. Neither has a deck but that is OK by me. What think the sages here without considering value or price? Is one better than the other. I am not a collector. This will be a working machine for pulling trailer, dragging small trees out of the woods...

Is there a better one of the IH Cadets?

A curious question and I am sure all members have their favorites, but I'll ask anyway. For a working tractor just pulling stuff on the property mostly with no grass cutting or snow removal, which model of the pre-MTD cub cadets is favored for durability, ease of use/maintenance, and...

    New From NC

I do not own a Cub Cadet at this time, but hope that will change soon. I am wanting to find an old IH Cub Cadet to use as a worker on my 3.75 acres. I have a decent newer mower to take care of grass but want something with a stouter trans and drive train to pull stuff. No ground engagement...
