These engines can be frustrating at times.
Just like issues I'm having currently w/my old 60 Chrysler 300 in this summer heat and crappy gas, or at least what they currently claim is gas!!
 
I learned the hard way that it is always a good idea to shut off the gas to a gravity fed carburetor when not in use. Don't rely on 50 yr. float and needle technology to stop gas at the float bowl.
I'm my engines, if it has a fuel shutoff, it gets turned off. Weather it's my atv, chipper, tractors, don't matter. If it's there, it's there for a reason!

In my state, NY, Stewart Shops sell ethanol-free gas.
