I'm looking to add a meter but want it to look as reasonably vintage in configuration and placement as possible on my Original.

Another thing I'm thinking is an hour-meter with a secondary *trip* function for servicing.

Any suggestions for a particular type of meter and placement on the dash?

Regards, Todd.

I-H sent out "Parts & Accessory" catalogs if your dealer you bought your 1961 to 1963 Cub Cadet from put your name on the correct mailing list. We also got annual catalogs with most of the typical farm implements every spring. I-H also sold an add-on Amp Guage to confirm the starter-generator was charging the battery properly.
I mounted a Hobbs Hour Meter on the front side of my #70 Cub Cadet about 1980 when I rebuilt the 10 hp engine I was going to install in it. My 982 had one installed at the factory that was replaced by the guy I bought it from. The BIG issue with them is to remember to NEVER leave the ignition key in the ON position. The hour meter continues to run without the engine or tractor running. Small kids are prone to do this. Remove the keys and put them in your big toolbox.
