I am attaching some photos of my yard in Madison, Ms (Central Ms; hot as heck down here!) I bought a used 108 in '79 when I built this house. It was used on 3 acres of ground and it used to take me 3 hours to mow (in 3rd gear!) Due to trees and beds I down to 40 minutes. In about 20 years I almost wore that 108 out (but I didn't!) It had to have a new block one time and then that twice rebuilt. I bought a JD345 2 decades ago to give the 108 a rest. I have restored the 108 and it is like new. I bought a CC1711 also recently. Those Cubs are tough.

Mike,
Want to cut your mow time way down? Get you a zero turn! Then you can sit inside where it is cool.
Don't get me wrong, I love cubs, but they are super slow compared to a zero turn. If you love mowing, keep using your tractor style mowers. If you want to "get r done" so you can get out of the heat, a ZT is the way to go.
Cubs are fun to use for just about anything, and even fun to just look at. But for mowing fast, like any tractor style mower, they are not.
Bought a SCAG commercial ZT back in 05' because I wanted it to last. Best investment I ever made!
