Gotta love their current business model: Raise rates significantly more, and then openly admit they will be increasing shipment times, especially first class. If the government had not kept allowing them to lose significant cash over the years, and constantly subsidized them, they would have folded up decades ago due to gross incompetence.

My postal person will not deliver to me anymore, after I displayed a political sign in my yard. I now have to drive to the post office to pick up, about a 40 minute trip. Complained but hasn’t changed. Waiting for the midterm to get over. I talked with my representative about my problems, thinking we have a new postmaster after the election that will not allow this sort of behavior.

This is the type of horse manure that has to stop. It should not matter who you support, or which stance you take on any given issue. This behavior is UNAMERICAN. I have a feeling that the American people as a whole have had enough of this and crap will change soon.

Sounds like your 1st amendment rights are being violated.
Amazing how these govt funded facilities can do less and demand more. They don't have to be competitive.
Although, lately, UPS has been a mess. I think they play Soccer with all packages before delivery. Maybe their main Hub is in Texas

Hey David - that is pretty slow (13 days to go 627 miles).

I just checked my Operator Manual to reconfirm the top speed of my Model 169 Hydro is 8mph. If I drove 8mph for 8hrs I'd go 64miles/day. Dividing that into 627miles and it should take just under 10 days, plus 2 days off for the weekend totals 12 days.

Seems to me the guy must'a been driving a Gear Drive unit, which has a top speed of 6.9mph. Driving 6.9mph for 8hrs is 55.2miles/day. Dividing that into 627 miles, it would take slightly over 11 days to get there, plus 2 weekend days off, totals 13 days.

Just another case that proves - HYDROS are the best!!!!! (even for delivering packages). :roflol:

(Honestly - I just don't get the Post Office anymore. Last year I had a package shipped from Seattle. Somehow it showed up in Atlanta, then Albuquerque, and then Phoenix).

Lets hope the political divisiveness ends soon. The country has been swirling down the hole over the last 20 years or so. But it's really bad over the last 6 years.

I had a similar experience with Fedex. But it still only took 3 days

My business receives packages carried by USPS, UPS, & Fed-Ex. They all have their moments of “bad” had 3 priority mail packages shipped from same vendor in CA to WV this week. All left same day received 2 in good shape 3 days later the 3rd box was a day behind & although still intact looked more like a round ball than a flat rate medium box.

Gear drives are “constant” companions. Same speed up hill, down hill, around the hill.

Neil - not sure I agree with your position. Seems to me it doesn't matter if it's a gear drive or hydro, that going up a steep hill they are both gonna slow down, and going down a steep hill they are both gonna overspeed. And as for going around the hill, well seems to me a hydro and gear drive would both go constant speeds at WOT.

As Jay noted, can't argue the facts.
