Hi all, I'm cleaning, tuning, painting and riding my "new" 102. Trying to remove the exhaust pipes to replace and maybe do an upright exhaust.....
They do not budge with a large pipe wrench... any tricks to remove and what to use to clean up the threads

The old adage may apply here....
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If I ain't leaking , best to leave it alone or risk breaking something trying to remove it.
Heat will be your best friend in that operation however.

PB Blaster will help. Spray it let it soak. Don't run the engine and try it cold

When I work on something that won't come apart because of rust, exhaust bolts and such, I take a small hammer, 6-8 oz. and tap on it lightly. Your just setting up a vibration through the part to cause the rust to break free. On an exhaust bolt I will tap it maybe 300 times, just tap. think vibration.
