What kind of a steering ratio do they have? Looks like he turns the steering wheel a couple of degrees and the wheels go from lock to lock.

Richard: I'm not sure what the ratio is within the steering unit, however the ratio is 'adjustable'. The pitman arm has multiple holes in it. The drag link can be moved to any one of the holes. By moving the drag link up, or down, the steering response can be 'slower' (high attachment) or 'faster' (low attachment)depending on track size, track condition, and most of the time, for driver prefrence.

Here is a picture of my uncle Duke. You can see the drag ling running horizontal across the front of the header, and attaching to the pitman arm. Note, the other holes in the pitman arm above where the drag link heim joint is.
