Havent had to do much to the Cub except change a front tire and clean the sedament bowl. Need to find a drive belt for the mower deck (48 inch I think). Would like to find a 38 inch deck for it and a 3point hitch. This tractor is unrestored and looks really good will post a photo soon.

Welcome Larry! Glad you joined in.

It looks like the PTO belt is the same for the 38 and the 48 decks on a 122. 3/8 x 81.

Copy of sponsors listing:
IH Deck to PTO belt for 38, 38C, 42, 48 decks decks 3/8" x 81"PN/ 473462 R4 IH-473462-R4
$40.16

There are many threads on here about the premature failures of inferior belts. Buy the correct belt listed here, or at your local dealer.

Welcome Larry!
The 122 is the third series of cub cadets made from 1965 to 1967. Can't wait to see a pic of yours. Had to laugh about your neat story about the wife not liking it!
I live about 400 miles east of you in good ol' NC. Bought an original from a fellow south of Nashville several years ago.

I acted in haste. I owe the man an apology. I was wrong my bad.
Good. I wish every internet vendor was as fast, fair, and reliable as Charlie at CCSpecialties. Glad you got it squared away. If you ever do have a problem, be sure to communicate with him, by email or phone.

Haven't done much of either lately. We went to visit our granddaughter that is in the army. She is finishing up her schooling and will be shipping out in a month for South Korea. Wife is leaving today for her class reunion so I will fish and play with the cub as much as the dogs will let me.

Wow, proud grandparents. Thanks to your granddaughter for her service. Is that her first assignment outside the US?

Where are you located? Went to the county fair last night. Watched the mini tractor pull. Wow,all were highly modified and thay sure could pull ! Only picked out 4 cubs from about 50 tractors on hand, one sears, 3 John deere, and 4-5 wheel horse. The rest were to modified to pick out . Interesting machines but I think mine will stay stock.
