I’m new to this group and have a question. My Dad had the original bill of sale. He was the original owner. He passed away last year and my siblings threw away everything. I was given the tractor and want to know when it was built. I want to bring it back to life.

Ok here are some photos.

If I read the tag right, the serial # is 505612. That would give it a birth date of March, 1974.
Please do not get rid of it, you can't buy anything built like that anymore. And it is not all that hard to fix if you have a little patience.
That would be a good tractor to restore since it was your dad's. My first one was a 128, which was made in 73'. I did not know anything about cub cadets, but the guys on this site got me going when I had questions.
CCSpecialties has all the parts you need to get it going.
Just be careful, the yellow and white is more contagious than the corona virus! LOL 😉
Here is an older pic of my completed 128.
As you can see, nobody can own just one! 😆

Thanks so much for the info! I was so happy to get this from my Dad. My siblings didn’t want it and I plan to keep it forever. My son is a Mechanical Engineer and wants me to give it to him. I told him it’s his when I can no longer take care of it. I’m planning to restore it.

Go for it!!! (y) We are here if you have any questions. We will be looking for updates and pics. Just remember, be patient, stay at it, and don't give up. If you get frustrated, just quit for the day, and come back the next day. That works for me. Did I mention be patient? ;)
While you are at it, start a thread in the refurbish/restoration section so we can keep up with your progress better.

I had the chance to restore my Dad's 147 last fall which he bought in 1971. Take your time it will turn out great. I'm a retired firefighter/ paramedic from the City of Fort Thomas, Ky.

That looks great! I’m a retired Captain / Paramedic from the Homewood, IL Fire Department. I need to build a storage shed for it first. It’s currently under a tarp to protect it. I’m looking forward to restoring it and I’m sure I will be asking for help.
