Hi all just bought a 1962 Cub Cadet original it's complete with no options. I need to purchase the best repair and service manuals. I plan on doing a complete restoration also a good parts source hopefully a vendor associated with the club. Thanks Martin

What are the main differences between an IH #2 trailer and an IH #4 trailer? Two differences I see from the manual illustrations are that the #2 trailer has fenders and a somewhat different latching mechanism for the tilting bed, when compared to the IH #4 trailer. Is one (#2 vs. #4) more durable/better than the other? Will both fit and operate well with an IH Cub Cadet 100 Lawn & Garden Tractor, especially when turning (i.e., no interference with rear tractor tires for usual turns)? I have a John Deere Model 80 trailer for my John Deere 318 Lawn & Garden Tractor and it is built stout.

Anthony - suggest you do a search on here for "cart". IH may have called them trailers but most of us refer to them as a cart. The No. 1 and No. 2 carts are more appropriate to the Model 100 era tractor. A No. 4 cart didn't come along until the wide frame era tractors.

This is a # 4. I believe the # 4 is a 10 cu. ft.

Kraig is the main one to thank for those manuals being scanned, he's spent years doing it and has no idea how many people he's helped over the years and NO ONE can thank him enough for all he's done for the hobby!!!!!

Charlie - I certainly 2nd your message and expound it. NO ONE can thank Kraig, Oh Great One and Keeper of the Photos (and many many other things) enough for everything he's done for the hobby and this Forum.

Lew - did you swipe that pic of the No. 2 cart from me??? I keep my IH/WP nuts and bolts in Chock full O'Nuts coffee cans.

Anthony - here's a No. 1 cart, which is more like a wheelbarrow and pretty neat to.
Nearly like hens teeth to find one tho. Its a must have behind an Original, and really nice behind a 70 or 100

Dear Harry, Charlie, Lewis et al. Thank you all for your comments and photos about IHC carts! Kraig, thank you for scanning and sharing all those precious vintage manuals. I've started reading the "IH Electrical" one on fundamentals and applications for tractors.
