Marty, the best snow repellent around here was my 126 standing at the ready with plow mounted. I had it ready for three years, with no snowfalls to use it. I took it apart one winter for an engine rebuild, and we had three 6-inch snowfalls that year.

SPEED is the secret to plowing snow.
That and a keen awareness of the terrain that lies under the snow you are pushing.

I added about 1" to the ends of the upper fork on all my blades for ease of installation.

Sickle thrown away?!!! 😭
I may have came across 3 or 4 in the past 12 years in this area. I have two of those. The others were very expensive, usually around $600 - $1000

As for the plow, don't expect too much. Great to have, but so-so on practicality.
If you are plowing deep or wet snow with the blade angled, the snow will push the front of your tractor opposite of the angle. I have the smaller blade, and it pushes my tractor to the side quite easily. I usually start with a straight angle in the middle of the drive, and then switch to a small angle. Even then, I can only use about half of my blade in order to keep the tractor straight.
I thought about more weight on the front, wider tires, and maybe chains on the front. On second thought, I only get to plow snow once in about 5 years. If I wait until the next day, the snow is already gone anyway! :roflol:
Where I am, we get snow often. It is mostly a cold dry (light) snow. A 54 would be nice just to get the snow farther away of the tires when plow is angled. I probably wouldn't use it for full width plowing. I also added a Chain to run down the center of my front tire chains. It helps the 'push' you get with heavy snow.

I am still crying about the sickle thrown away. So so sad!

Enjoy the 54”. I put a larger blade on my 1512. The angle plowing can be tough with deep snow. With lots of weight and tire chains it will push straight pretty good.

Marty - yup, same kind of experiences I had. Ended up with about 75# of weights on each rear wheel and it would still push the front of the tractor off at an angle. Like I said before, makes a really nice show piece for a tractor show, etc., but the QA42A Snow Thrower is really the way to go.

OK found Aux ( Double handle) for the 1450. Pump and hoses. I’m excited.

Steve - you said "Pump". Your 1450 already has a ported hydrostatic pump. Did you mean the dual spooler valve that goes with the double handle?

Also - you said "hoses". The dual spooler valve has hard lines for the front outlets. If you look under the parts listing (under Hydraulic Front Outlet Unit) you'll see the following diagram that shows the parts.

Thanks Harry i need that schematic. Harry I got everything in that pic. Harry do you have the schematic for the angle plow. Need that too. He hooked me up with all of the brackets and cylinder hoses too. Got lucky

Steve - hmmmmmmm, I thought by now you figured out how and where to go to find the schematic diagrams. I suppose, since I did it recently for fairly newbie member I can do it for you BUT THIS IS THE LAST TIME I'll be doing it. (You can teach me how to paint professionally if I ever get back there again and see some friends on Squirrel Hill, or over in McKeesport).

1st, go to the Main Forum page here:
https://www.ihcubcadet.com/
2nd, select the thread "IH Cub Cadet Tractor Forum" which will take you here:
https://www.ihcubcadet.com/forums/ih-cub-cadet-tractor-forum.4/
3rd, scroll down and select the 4th thread in the listing titled "Link to CubCadet Parts" which will take you here:
https://www.ihcubcadet.com/threads/link-to-cubcadet-parts.7139/
4th, click the link for "Lookup Parts Via Diagram l Cub Cadet US" which will take you here:
https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/content-asset-page-includes/ari-partstream.html
5th, click on the box in the center that says "Cub Cadet" which will take you here:
https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/content-asset-page-includes/ari-partstream.html
6th, scroll down the page and select "Garden Tractor". Make sure you do NOT select Cub Cadet on the list. You have to scroll far enough to select "Garden Tractor". If you select Garden Tractor it will take you to the following page:
https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/content-asset-page-includes/ari-partstream.html
7th, scroll down the list of model numbers to look for 1450. It won't be there. You have to select the box at the bottom center of the page that says "SHOW MORE". Once you do that it will add more models on the list and you will see 1450 on the list with the model and kind code numbers. Click on the link on the line for 1450 and it will take you here:
https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/content-asset-page-includes/ari-partstream.html
8th, on the right half of the top of the page you will see 2 boxes. One titled "Attachment" and one titled "Assemblies for 1450". For what you want you need to select the box titled "Attachment" which will take you here:
https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/content-asset-page-includes/ari-partstream.html(It just adds a 3rd column to the page).

9th, scroll down the list until you find "Hydr. Angle 42/54 Push Blade" and select it, which will take you here:
https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/content-asset-page-includes/ari-partstream.html
This page will show you 4 parts diagrams. I think 1 of them is really a duplicate. This is as far as I'm going to take you. Once you're on this page you'll see diagrams of the parts you need. You can select each diagram and see the layout for that section of the hydro angle blade.

Hope this helps.

Under Edit - well, the links on the Cub Cadet Parts pages didn't work. but you can still follow each step and get to the Attachment page and the page for the Hydr. Angle Blade.
