Look up your tractor on the CCC Cub Cadet web site.

https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/content-asset-page-includes/ari-partstream.html#
Click on the yellow Cub Cadet tag, not the lower one,( it's for the good ones), the pre-circa 1981 CCC/MTD Cubs,

There should be a list of attachments for that model Cub that will include mower decks.
Or
Give your local CCC Cub Cadet deal a call and he will be able to help I'm sure
Good luck!

We picked up a Cub Cadet HDS2185 with no mower deck. Wondering if anyone knows if other cub models would work. Thank you
Here's what that machine originally used for decks.

300 46" Mower 190-300-100

thank you! I know this sounds dumb but I am new to tinkering to some degree exp tractors. this was a family mower thats been passed down, an im making a project of it. runs well! she has what I believe is a k301 12hp kohler. I feel the carb needs some work. along with the pto clutch that drives the deck. and I am struggling to get some good hard information that I can follow an purchase from. I am using partstree to the best of my knowledge. but forums ( like these) use standards as in "series" im not sure if i got my hands on an 82 series or a 1200 series. I am enjoying working and restoring such a great mower. I have more questions then imaginable unfortunately... but I look forward to continuing my FIRST restoration! :D

Get a copy of "50 Years of Cub Cadet
By Oscar H, Will III

Everything you ever wanted to know (maybe!) about the IH Cub Cadets and the others clear up to 2011 or so broken down in sections, IH built units and CCC/MTD built.

right here, look in the manuals section and the FAQ sections.
You can download the manuals there.
The book I referenced is a general guide to all the models that were offered as well as a brief history of the early years R&D for those models.

Make sure you use a cub belt. Most of the parts stores belts won't hold up long.

Call for 89" belt for the 44" mower deck. I bought an oregon belt and it too loose. 😞 will there be that much difference in belt manufacturers?
