I have a few Cub Cadets. A 100, that has been fully restored. A 782 that's been repowered with a magnum 18hp. A 149 that came from the original owner with a bunch of attachments. I put a blade on it this winter and pushed some snow.

I recently picked up a 149 with a tiller. It's been used hard but I think I can put it back to work

Thanks for the welcome. This site looks like it has some good information for working on these.
I restored that Cub Cadet 100 back in 2018. I purchased old manuals for information.

The rest I have found locally, some even from the same dealer, and those 149s are 1 year apart from the same dealer here in MI.

Hello Nathan. Nice herd. Glad to have you here.

This site has tons of info! Have you found the FAQs? Click the forums tab, scroll down to the IH technical forums group, then select IH Cub Cadet Tractor Forum. The first six threads are stickies that will always be the first threads that appear. There you can find history, amazing adaptations of Cub Cadets, a link to the CubCadet OEM parts breakdowns, wiring diagrams, manuals, and that's just to get you started.

Welcome Nathan. Nice looking collection. Looks like enough to keep you busy.

Yes this fleet will keep you busy. The 782 does the most work, and needs the most maintenance and repairs. I cut over a mile of ATV trails with it in my backyard.

The 100 is just for shows.

My newest 149 with a tiller. I got it into the garage today and started working on it. It's a mess. It might be worth saving.

Nathan, last fall after pulling engine and tank ,I took a 129 to local sandblaster....It was well worth the cost and he did a terrific job. After blasting he gave it a coat of epoxy primer...note to caution..he blasted part of a corner off dash before he realized it wasn't metal...I consider that my fault for not telling him it was not...just something to consider....

I had my 100 sand blasted. It turned out great. The guy even came to my house. You can see my 2012 GTX in this picture as well.

It's well worth the cost. I couldn't imagine removing all the paint by hand on one of these. The sand blasting does a great job.

I worked on that 149 with the tiller today. It needed a head gasket, voltage regulator, a bunch of wiring work, oil change, some carb adjustments and cleaning. I got it up and running nice.

Still needs a muffler, hood, and various trim pieces.

The old voltage regulator didn't even have a cover. So I put an old one in I had but cleaned the points first. Seems to charge just fine now.

The head needed to be leveled a bit. I sanded it on a granite countertop. I got it very flat checked it with a straight edge to verify. I also cleaned off some carbon and checked the valves as per the manual.

Not sure who owned this before me but it's unfortunate they didn't take care of it.

I have the original muffler, but it looks like someone welded a tuna can over a hole and it's rotted out just touching the thing makes it fall apart. Where could I get a new one?

Surprisingly it runs and drives alright. Steering is tight and the hydro is adjusted well. Brakes could use some help, the pedal is very stiff with little stopping power.

I will say this 149s might be my favorite Cub. Even so the 782s are hard to beat. I use my 782 on 15 acres to cut grass, plow the garden, and sometimes do snow. I pick up trash with it a lot down my road.

Nathan, I have a new old stock 14 horse muffler, but it has a new old stock K321 attached to it, and the price is steep.
