I went and bought a little skid loader and came home with this is cadet also. I have searched far and wide and cannot seem to find out what year I have, can someone please help me? I have a snow blower and a cutting deck, am curious what the bad ass hitch on the back is for, this thing is built tough as nails! Kind of excited to clean the tank and carb and get it outside once. Any info is appreciated! I have the sides of the engine housing also

The generator got set there on the way home and it hasn't been lifted off there, been waiting for a younger buddy to get over here and give me a hand

Most likely a 1450 from 1975 or 1976. Once you get the genset off, there should be a serial number tag on the back of it. From the serial number the year and month of manufacture can be determined.

Kraig - I think you're memory is slipp'n a little.

Todd - you definitely have a Cub Cadet from what's known as the "Quiet Line" series, AND, since it's a Hydrostatic drive it has to be either a model 1250 (12hp), 1450 (14hp), or 1650 (16hp).
There should be a serial number tag on the left side of the frame close to where the brake pedal is located (when the brake is off). (I think this is what Kraig forgot - he was thinking of an earlier model that had the serial number tag on the back of the rearend housing).
The number on the tag will have 7 digits followed by the letter U and then 6 more digits, i.e. 2050000U000000
The first 3 digits in the serial number will be 205 (which means it's a Cub Cadet) and the next 4 digits could be any of the following:
0059 or 0610 or 0630 is Model 1250
0065 or 0066 or 0660 is Model 1450
0067 or 0070 or 0670 is Model 1650
The letter "U" indicates it was built in the good ole U.S. of A.
The 6 digits after the letter U are the actual build serial number specific to the tractor. If you tell us that number we can tell you the month and year it was built.

Hydro, I didn't see any sign of the S/N tag in the photo of the left side so, for some unknown reason, (CRS :drool2:) I was thinking it might be on the back.

Todd, here's where it should be:

Nice!
A 1650 with deck and snow thrower for $300?!? Good deal in my book for sure!
The hitch appears solid and maybe home made? I’m sure others will chime on the hitch.
Please keep us up to date on how she runs.

Solid is an understatement! If home made I am thanking whoever had the skill (and love) that put the time into it. I assume it must be for rear weight also, like I said... if that hitch moves the rest of the machine is going too! I am going to get her going going on my next day off, thank you all! And thank you former owner/fabricator dude that made the hitch. I love it!

Ooh Nooooooo - All the 1650's IH produced were made with Kohler K-series cast iron engines. Your 1650 originally had a Kohler Model K341AQS engine.
