The hydraulic guys said this morning not to use anything but fittings meant for that purpose, so it was back to the search. I did find the right stuff finally, just had gone to the wrong places!!

So, we are back on track! Dave Calkins suggested I use some old garden hose pieces to finalize the correct lengths before the final (I hope) trip the hydraulic shop. Great idea!! Thanks Dave!!

They are right, while often done, black malleable fittings have no place on 1500 psi hyd systems. Forged steel fittings are correct.

More detail now that I have numbers in front of me....

Typical hardware store class 150 Black Malleable fittings are rated to 300 psig from -20 to 150 deg F.

Class 300 are rated much higher, but are not comonly available at any hardware store, only at industial supply houses.

Big selection of steel fittings out there, and like Charlie said, easy to order.

Les and I fabricated this fixture to hold the hose routing across the frame for the lift cyl's yesterday. It will live just above the right side frame rail and be secured by the fuel tank mount and by a 1/4" cap screw threaded into the deck lift cyl mount.

In the morning, weather and road cond's providing, (Geesh!!) it's off to the hose shop to get the hoses fittings that I trial fitted crimped.

Dave, see my previous post!!
Nice to see a youngster on 'his size' tractor!

Hood, Dash and grill went off to the painter yesterday. Hope to have it all done in time for Portage.
The big DANCO decals, final rework, showed up last week as well.

David - things are looking really nice. I'm just a little worried about you not being able to use the little side panel on the right side that bolts to the pedestal, frame and gas tank support brackets. It helps stabilize the gas tank. Were you thinking at all about trying to modify and still use it?

Tractor looks great!! Hope you are able to get the parts you need to finish it!
