I'd be curious as to what the peak torque rating is. That is more telling than the HP rating.

Is that correct, max. torque is at 2500??? I don't remember the numbers right now, but Kohler's is definitely at higher rpm, and I think, subject to verification, that it's higher, too.

Hey Charles-- I might mount an 8"-9" fan blade on the front side of the motor, but I haven't looked closely enough at the original internal DuroMax fan (which may be more efficient at cooling than anything I could mount externally) to determine.
 
Here's the completed adapter/connector for the DuroMax flywheel to CC147 hydro input shaft. This is straight off my lathe and mill (I actually TIG welded [with no filler rod] on the lathe to assemble while machining) and hasn't been thread-chased, de-burred, fully/finish welded, etc... Fits perfectly!

With the positioning of the new engine and the length of the adapter I won't need to cut/resize the CC147 hydro input shaft.

I started the front-end transformation from the drop-axle spindle to an axle that sticks out of an actual spindle. Here's the original mock-up of a king pin spindle and its mount (sans axle) to the front axle beam:

Welded up (with the "driver's side" steering arm attached, also with new hub on) it looks like this:

Anyhow, aside from my welding, I'm liking the new front-end... Here's a better view of the spindle/hub from the front:

Here's a video of the new front end in (limited) action. The linkage to the steering box is mounted on the wrong side of the steering lever (my support that holds the tractor up is in the way), but it served as a decent test:

 
Man, those front rims are wide! Gonna be a bear to steer with those. Hope you got power steering.
