Just cleaning up and getting ready to paint some parts (when it gets warmer). Upon inspection of this shaft which holds up the foot rests and (some other things I’m sure) ,it looks like it’s been modified. There is a large slot cut out of this bracket and another piece welded over this slot. This can’t be factory? Does anyone have a pic of what it should look like? It has the right colour of paint but that means nothing. Could have been repainted at some point. I hope you all can see what I mean by the pictures. If not I’ll post more.

also this bracket was a real bugger to remove Through the bottom of the frame.

That's correct
My 147 is the same way
They were factory standard equipment on the 147's and mounted that way.
It's the lift bar plate that incorporates the lift for the electric lift that was used on that model.
Yours does have that correct??
have been bolted onto the rockshaft.
FYI The 147 was the 1st cub to get a 14HP engine and the last of the narrow frame Cubs
