Cub 100 can’t figure out year currently in process of restore

Still can’t figure it out not seeing that # anywhere I researched
Series #2 of Cub production, which was the 70 and the 100, lasted from Aug, 1963 to Aug '65 with a serial number range from 65,458 to 127,160 with a total run of 127,160 units, 22,600 of which were model 70's leaving 69,102 of that the 100's, Not exactly a rare model.

Judging from the number on your differential, it appears someone has swapped it in from a later series Cub such as a series #4 which consisted of Cub models 72, 104, 105, 124, & 125, the 105 &125 having been Hydros. Series #4 enjoyed a production run from Nov' 1967 to Aug 1969 and totaled 88,075 units with a ser# range from 218,010 to 306,085.

Your #27x860 would then be in the range from Nov '68-Jan '69.
Still can’t figure it out not seeing that # anywhere I researched
