Not good at electrical,need help....128 not charging ..changed volt reg.( corroded inside) I've tracked field wire to new reg ,Tracked batt wire to ign. sol., running reading across batt. 12.27..not running 12.57 across batt. I've jumped from pos on batt to field on gen to polarize...overnight drained batt. no extras,no lights ign off... dash gauge reads backwards like discharging...... input please
 
Get a copy of Roland's fancy wiring diagram and check your wiring and connections. There is a post of a diagram (probably in the FAQ"s) explaining the different types of voltage regulators and how to wire them.
There is also a check you can do to check and see if the starter/generator is working properly. The procedure is posted on this site probably in the FAQ's also.
 
Since I brought it up, where are the FAQ's at nowadays? I know it is right in front of me, but danged if I see it! Fun gettin' old!
 
I knew it was right in front of me. One heck of a day at work today didn't help any either.
