Oh, and I'll be trying to do the trunion repair on #2-1450, only likes full forward or reverse, not surprised considering condition at purchase last year.
I know,
worthless.gif

When everybody gets home, I'll line in driveway and take a family photo. That'll be a couple weeks. And I'll have to bring #1-1450 back to dad to use right after! He came to like her mowing at church and now needs a rider to mow at his place, and push snow. That qa42a will get a tear down this winter. I got 3 blades, so I'm not worried about the snow! Bring it!!
I do need to find the chains though...

Thanks Marty, Matt, and Jim-

I'll start a proper thread shortly and maybe go over this again. I don't care to poke the bear.

Marty-

I'll get a few pics of the 108 tomorrow. It's a roller right now with the engine on the bench. I've been "puttering" with little things while waiting for the clutch and paint to dry. I removed the inner rod of the lift arm because it was sticking. The small pto lever opposite the pto engage lever (one on right side) was completely rusty so off it came. I also cleaned and lubed the shaft. I painted the cast aluminum nose but not the lower grill casting.

I don't really have a goal here other than make another worker. It's a sound unit though and appears it has been taken care of or at least not abused. It'll start as a trailer puller and maybe a mower...we'll see.

.

Well I got my 149 as a parts tractor, and a 129 complete. But I'm going to be swapping all the 149 stuff to the 129. But I'm stuck on removing some spring pins or spiral pins. Even the one on the lift arm for both 149 and 129. Is the a tool that can make removing these pins alot easier??? I tried roll punch, center punches but they have not moved out. Can I use a air hammer to get these pins out?

So after 149 got its first ag workout, getting the remaining pieces of our American Beach that fell into neighbors yard over a month ago, momma wanted parts 1250 OUT OF "HER" DRIVEWAY!!!!

So before 1250 hit what may be its final resting spot, I commemorated the old IH CUB CADET 1250 w/ a few words and Thanked it for the rearend, hydro trans/pump, 7" rims, rear lift, and rubber "Notched" brake pedal cover!!!

The donated rear lift came in real handy. I bolted the busted 149 rear in the 1250 frame and the 149 had no trouble at all lifting the rear of 1250. 149 drug the 1250 on 2 flat front tires through front yard gate, through back yard, and into the woods! I set the ole Jackson Cart behind 1250 kinda like a yard ornament almost!!!

Earl F -

Congrats on New Home and ALSO the new "CUB HOUSE" beside it!!!!
happy.gif

Yep ag's work great especially climbing BIG Hills!!!! Turf's used to spin and cubby would roll backwards, kinda scary when you are already leaning over steering wheel cuz the front tires are coming off the Ground!!!! LoL
Ag's dig rite in no wheel spin whatsoever.
thumbsup.gif

My cubby is in woods working fetching up fire wood when not on mowing duty, so the ag's really have worked out great so far! I'm not doing any actual plowing, Yet Anyway!!!

Thanks Jason. I have picked up so many:
Riders
Lawn tractors
Garden tractors
An a truck,
Sitting in woods like that its nuts! I'll spare the OT list on what I had and only on dad's 1/3 acre. I still go 'hunting' and actually used my truck to pull a 127 into a guys barn and had it running in 45 min. Not well, but he fixed it and is still using it. He said if we couldn't get it going it was mine. I'm an honest guy and gave it my all. Yeah, I missed out on a free tractor, but it was worth it to fix what his grand dad bought brand new.
I got a full tank of gas in my truck from his pump so it worked out.
Oh, and # was 27 LT's, 15-20 push mowers, 3 snoblo, 4 tillers. On 1/3 acre! Junior high was great!

Austin E.
Did ya see the Patent Pending on it?
I'd say the Grump might come back and jump on ya with both feet and his 4 teeth, if you copied his design.

Spray the pins with PB Blaster Kroil or anything along those lines and they will come out.
You can also use a 2 pound hammer as a backer to keep things solid, but it takes 2 people and a steady hand.
thumbsup_old.gif

One time I took a cutoff disk and cut them flat with the coupler because the previous owner was an idiot and mushroomed both ends of the pin, Grrrrrr

That will also heat the pins up enough that they will probably slide out for ya.

Austin -

I definitely along w/ most here have gone through a few stubborn roll pins. Charlie is correct, a good penetrating oil and even cutting mushroomed pins that have been soaking a good day or two warms pin up enough to loosen things up without breaking out the torch and really making a mess of things if working in a tight spot.
happy.gif

I'd say patience is key, even if it means a few extra hours of wrenching on things to take apart as much of tractor as possible to get an actual good solid swing at it. Patience appears to been no problem in your case if your actually considering fabricating a or "THE" pin tool remover!!! I've been fortunate enough to avoid that actual scenario so far!!!
I did have to actually cut a 1250 driveshaft coupler roll pin flush w/ coupler as Charlie mentioned, worked a Treat!
thumbsup.gif

Plus a good roll pin/drive punch set w/ the "centering teet" in the head really helps also!

Jason,

Super nice 149 w/ags!!!
thumbsup_old.gif

If you are going to make a yard ornament out of that 1250, take the rims off, and put a set of tri-ribs on them for the 149!

Also Ribs on the 1250 front rims, AWESOME

Hey since MOST of the work 149 does is on very steep slopes, hill type terrain, and crawling through woods, would the backwards front ag's be any benefit over ribs?

You know Jason, if you put pics of just the backside of our tractors together, save the seats, they are identical! Sorry for those that already know this, not something I paid attention to before.

Nice Receiver!!!

Hey it's hard to tell from the pic but is that a street 90 screwed into rear fill port?

Nice 147! It looks pretty complete too. The engine looks to be a replacement so maybe low mileage???

When are you going to get started on WFs?
