That receipt looks like the ones they used in the IH dealership in Richland Ia where I grew up, same size , hole punch.
I always remember the Parts man, Earl,The way he leaned around the pole at the counter and wrote the tickets out.
One Day stands out, one of those, you always remember where u were,Dad had bought parts and Earl wrote the ticket out, 7/7/77...was the date.
Never forget it...always remember all the new cubs on the show room floor...
ok ...enough rambling...

Mick M,

Yes, the sales ticket receipt Jason posted is similar to what we used at our family's dealership as well. Different name/address but same size w/holes on the sides to feed it through the register machine. This was bookkeeping before computers!

Ethan-

Yep, 1974
I paid 5 bills for the receipt and he threw in the 149 and deck for free!!!

Jason-good deal I’m actively seeking out a 149 for my stable I think that’s a good tie between my 125 and my 1450s

Jason-

I think/believe most of it finds Charlie.

I'd like to interject a thought here. We need to post more...even just to say "I rode the 129 today!" or something of the like. Pics are even better because we all love to see em. No one here wants to know what the forum would be like otherwise. To get an idea go to other forums and have a nice read of all of the advertisement. Charlie (and Kraig) work pretty hard to keep what we have here going and I for one really appreciate it. I haven't been a cub cadet enthusiast all of my life but since I became one this forum has helped me through so many problems/issues. I am a member of other cub forums but, IMO, this forum beats them all hands down...period. We have had and still have some of the wisest cub people out there. As an example, we recently lost a great member Myron Bounds that, unfortunately, took so much cub information with him. He was also a member of other forums but I feel like he was happiest here. And he's just one example of what we have (and had) in this wonderful hobby. I doubt anyone can come up with a cub cadet issue that hasn't been covered here at one time or another.

So, get your cameras/phones out there and let us all know what's going on with your cubs. Isn't that what this is all about???

I just had a lengthy talk with Frank up in Maine and this was our main topic of conversation. I know I don't post every day but I do visit here several times a day. It's also very nice to have the newbies come on here. They are the ones that will be out plowing when some of us are pushing up tulips. I'd love to know this hobby will live on and the scrap yards will see even less cubs in the future.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

.

Charlie,

Yep, those were part of the advertising kit for the new 1X6/7 Series back in 69. I have most of those from our dealership. For some reason I always liked them and kept them though mine aren't in as good of shape as yours.

Fold the white outer perimeters back and use two long rubber bands looped to the hook points on the left and right (or top/bottom) sides, respectively to form the picture frame. Tough part is finding the right length rubber bands that don't apply too much tension and deform the cardboard hooks.

Wayne-all,here,here well put and maybe that’s the point to post the little things, the life lived with the cubs...as opposed to waiting to post the big things...I took the mower deck off the 125 today and used my troublesome 1450 for the first time for yard work

The ad for that 73 must have been done with a high speed lens on the camera - makes it look like the blade is standing still!
roflol.gif

And the guy on the 147 must have a more understanding bride than I do - she'd give me what-for if I discharged grass clippings toward the sidewalk and landscaping like he is.

Oh, and the fold up frames are kinda cool, too!

Those add frames are so neat...Digger did you get a “lot” of those, will they end up for sale or are those for you own personal stash either way sweet find

Ethan K.
Those and a bunch of other stuff is what was left over after the fire that didn't get water or smoke damage. One little cubby hole was spared where I had several boxes stashed away, LOL
Right behind the 2 doors in the upper right of this pic in my office.
And yes that is an IH fire extinguisher on the wall, LOL

Digger-wow a bitter sweet save on the those card board frames, when so much other cool stuff was lost

Here are a couple of pics of a weight bar that I and another friend are cobbling together for my 1250 and 129. The weights themselves are about 20 lbs a piece and 8 will fit on the bar. We are switching out the bolts with grade 8 bolts. Am wondering if that is too much weight for the four bolts holding to the rear end?

The lower you can get those weights, the better off your gonna be. There be a lot less strain on the rear end as well. There's a reason that IH and everyone else put hitches/brackets down low.
You could move the weight hanger down and move the attaching piece on the weight up.

Ron, On yor camshaft points push rod dilemma, little to no throw on the push rod, and that's with a new push rod, So it's almost gotta be the cam.
I Have a good used cam on the shelf, and the engine is out of the Cub and on my bench for now. I will have to get it opened up and see just what is going on in there. I already know what's NOT going on!!

Paul F.

I wouldn't worry about 160# on 4 rear end bolts......a tiller is over 160# and is supported by 4 rear end bolts too.

Just make sure you distribute the loads well across the 4 upper bolts.

Wayne S,

Thanks for your input. The camshaft still has enough lobe with the groove to get 0.020" displacement or more at the pushrod with points open. So maybe that is the key criteria to consider. As long as you can get 0.020" or more displacement at the pushrod and can set the timing the cam is serviceable.
