That is a lot of gaskets.
I see a box that is marked Xmas, merry Xmas Charlie.

I'd rather snatch 5 of these mini blocks.
Thanks to Dave Kirk on educating me on a few things, We've come to the conclusion that by changing the pan, these can be used on Cubs.

Shultzie,
Depends on the blade.
Believe it or not, all 50" blades are not created equal.

The reason I'm asking is that a buddy of mine needs a set. I have some but I don't have them marked.
My 50" decks are about 5 miles from home.
The ones I picked out that was the closest is 15".
Is that for a 50" or 44"?

Plain ole 50" are 17.2" for the most part until you get into the newer decks.

44's are 15.94" or 15.12" and so on, there's 2 more.

If they are Cub blades or IH, they will have some sort of number stamped on them.

Well, frustrating update the from garage tonight.

Man this is slow going.

So I decompressed the spring and started to put the clutch side together. Without any roll pins in, the friction disk that moves when the clutch is let in and out moves pretty freely.

Once I put in the roll pin it rides on it binds up.

So I've spent a fair bit of time with really fine grit paper and a file smoothing down the shaft and have also had to compress the roll pin sides so they dont rub on the slots of the disk (maybe the holes in the drive shaft weren't perfectly true?) or perhaps the shaft slightly expands with the pin installed... idk

So I got that together and it moves OK just not super freely (maybe this is OK?)

Then, since I have a creeper, trying to get both pieces of that square stock in behind the spring with both nuts is basically impossible.

I think I'm going to have to cut the square stock that rests against the coupler in half to get it in there.

Feeling a bit frustrated at the moment but figured I'd share an update :/

Square stock????? Bolts At creeper??? I don't understand what it is you are doing there.....pic please.....

Brian E.
Dan Hoefler makes those driveshafts, and I guarantee you the holes are perfectly aligned.

So... has anyone ever "adjusted" the stop blocks in a hydro for a little more speed?

Seems it would be easy enough, but I'm not sure if I shave it down a little if the pistons would pop out too much from the cylinder block.

Wyatt, interesting. I'd like a bit more speed out of a hydrostatic. Hopefully someone has done it and will chime in. Or Marlin will post a warning about attempting it.
