Wayne, I think Art is the 169 specialist, But thought all the k engines for the 1X8,9 had balance gears. Sorry no idea on the dipstick location..

Had seat time almost everyday this week, Tilling and mowing..

I need a couple of rainy days for an exscuse to go to the barn and work on my 149 wanna be

Wayne Kohler service manual says 10 thru 16 hp had balance gears..

Got some time in with the 1650 and tiller this week until all the rain that Art ordered came. Even had one person give me greif about the bark of the 1650.

I got around to tinkering with 125 tonight. I have good spark at sparkplug and gas on plug. intermintent weak spark at points. Changed condenser but it didn't make a difference. They are new points. Dennis, cranked on it awhile and spark at plug didn't change. Checked out the new CC's at my local dealer today, then came home and mowed the lawn with the 127. Thinking it mows as good as a $5000. machine and it will do more things.

Melody, If the plugs wet then it isn't fireing under compression. My spark tester has about half an inch between the center electrode and the outside ground. Thinking is if your system will throw a spark that far at atmosphereic pressure it'll throw a spark .025 under compression. Make sure you have a full 12 volts at the coil, check the spark plug wire and the plug itself. I know the points just trigger the system and that appears okay but now is the time to make sure what you have is working right, so fold over a piece of sandpaper and clean them up, check your grounds. If you have a full 12 volts to the coil and a good plug and wire I'd suspect your coil.

Anyone have any ideas on how to strech out a chanlink fence using a cub? I have two 1 hundred foot sections to pull tight.

JEFF - Take two 2X4's and BOLT them together with the wire running between them, then chain or tie a strong rope to each end of the 2X4's and pull.

On good footing a CC may get the wire tight enough. We used to pull a quarter mile of fence with a full size FARMALL and sometimes almost got it too tight.

Mave to make sure your end of the fence away from the end your stretching is secured really good. You should use an angle brace to the top of the end post.

Art - Thanks for the 122 seat photo. I found a good pan that style and traded it to a buddy that is restoring his 122.

Another question re-guarding his 122: Kraig, do you or others have good photos of the Danco loader? What we want to see specifcally is the loader decals. Can the decals be purchased?
Did Danco change the style of its loaders from the 102 / 122 to the slant grilles? I have a brocure showing a Danco on a slant grill and the loader looks different than the loader on his 122.

This friend with the 122 / loader just purchsed it last weekend after someone told him about a cub cadet that was headed for salvage to be scraped. He got ahold of the owner and what he found when he arrived was a rough 122 w/ Danco and IH duals as well as one set of IH wheel wts. Also an IH rear blade, but he needs a sleeve hitch.
He took it home and after 30 minutes had it purring - no smoke. He then proceeded in 4 days time to completely take it down to the bare frame, paint and reasemble it and the loader with many new parts. New rubber (6.50 bar tread duals). I saw it last night and it is really nice, but did not have my camera, so he is sending me photos today for me to post. He has restored (2) Super M's and a Cub Lowboy in the past 3 years, for himself, but said he really enjoyed doing the 122.

Any pictures of your spike aerator? Where did you get your spike wheels from, or did you make them? Your a manual lift of a hydralic? I was thinking making one would be great from the stand point of weight alone. Be able to make it heavier than what they sell them for now a days. I like that trailer load of equipment though! Awesome to see the red!
