This might give you a better idea of the finish concerning the "Zinc Plated with an improved version of nickel–cadmium with chromium additives",,,,

I'm guessing this "finish" is much more resistant to rust & corrosion,,,,

A day without The Forum is like a day without Sunshine. Just saying.

Oh, while I'm here, I'm not ready to say HAPPY NEW YEAR until January 20.

Just curious; The plating on my 1650 lift handle had a chrome handle and the replacement seemed to be zinc so I painted it to add more rust protection. My 169 lift handle is also chromed.

Rumor has it that the world is going to the one percenters on Jan. 20 2017 Sure hope you're happy with that!

Depends, are we talking the 1 percent who own IH Cub Cadets? Ha!

I moved the lift rod from the upper hole to the lower one on the blade lift bracket on the 100 yesterday and can actually lift the blade! Dang my hernia, or more directly my stupidity for giving myself a present I didn't want!! Yes, the height while in the up position is not there, but my short flat driveway it won't be an issue for now.

I couldn't move my 100, so I just went and played with my 128.

Marty G. You're right about too many 70/100s getting modified. So, Federal Yellow and 901 White it will be.

Jason,

For your viewing pleasure, I made a special trip just for you.
On the other side of the door, as mentioned:

A little closer in:

The engine is already out, and a few other items have been removed.
As soon as I get it moved, I will move the pics and comments to the refurb & restore section.

I didn't make it to Oskaloosa to pick up the Cub Cadets. I'm finally getting some relief from a month long sinus infection and we had to rush Annie to the vet. Annie's being held over the weekend.

Marty G. I like the stored inside look. Like David S. we're not looking forward to the forthcoming storm. I have the 125 and Li'l Pete covered with a tarp since I've no room in the garage or sheds. (Earl didn't need enough items when he was here in November to give me the room in the other shed.)

Bill,
PPG 8665 is the closest I have found to 901 white

Bill J. Nate B. has pretty much nailed the source. Thank You, Nate. I still check out some of these newly cropped up versions of "American Pickers" stores from time to time. One never knows what might turn up in an old OEM can of IH paint. A now retired from the business antique dealer used to find IH oil cans that were unopened. He wanted $20.00/quart. He said you were buying the can and the oil inside was free.

Marty, Very nice herd, all corralled & tame,,, I noticed the 100 on the far right hasn't bucked that 5gal bucket yet,,,
err.gif

Man that's a sweet cub house you got there,,, sickle, kk200, lots of parts, and All those sweet old cubbies - from your earlier pics looks like cub house is pretty close to the homestead,,,
draw.gif

Also, your play day pics of the 128,,, Your county is greatly appreciating your help w/ the tertiary route, or that's one heck of a long driveway you got there! Either way,

Jason, I lived in a rural area about 8 years ago and helped clear the odd ball neighborhood on the one little Cul de sac on the otherwise farm road. Got pretty good at backing up the 1200 pushing snow! I had a wheel horse front blade slapped on the 3 point with a chain to lift it. Not to bad but no angling the blade. In the big snow of 2011 I bent the lower bracket using as much BRS as possible when reversing and forgot about the 2 ft rocks on each side at the end of the drive. Good thing it used to pop out of 2nd and reverse then, or maybe that's why!
You live, you learn, and I found a proper front blade after that. (2years later and it was a modified narrow frame...)

Thanks to everyone for the information on the lift cylinder for the 782. I ordered one to use for now, since the one I have doesn't seem to want to come apart. I haven't tried heating it yet, but I did try a 2' pipe wrench. I couldn't get a good bite with it though. I'm thinking of welding ears to the end to give more surface for the pipe wrench to grip. Or I may just forget it.

Thanks again

Danny

Marlin,

How close is Case IH 935 white to 901 white?

Jason,

That's my driveway, over 700 ft. long.
The first pic is looking toward the road. The second pic is toward the house. you can see a little of it back in the trees.

935 is much more cream than 901. 901 has a brighter hue.
