Daniel M - glad to hear the 128 is once again in the able mode. Doesn't sound like you had to much difficulty doing the repairs. I have heard of others having a real nightmare getting things apart. This is one area where it's very important to use those good original version Cub Cadet roll pins (that are either like a double roll or spirol roll pin). Bolts and the standard split pins just won't hold up long.

Definately not the easiest snow removal job since my normal snow removal tractor (the 129) isnt really usable with the hydro control all out of whack at the moment, along with a few other issues. I missed the chains and hydro for this job but the 1000 pulled through just fine. The ATV tires were good enough, I never got stuck though traction was a bit less. MWSC clutch was a bit extra work but my leg survived a couple hours with it. And the manual lift definitely gave the right arm a workout!

I cleared a bit wider area in case we get much more before a thaw comes. So even though it wasnt that deep (between 6-12 inches) I still pilled up some banks high enough I couldnt push any more.

Hopefully before too long I'll have the 129 in good running shape along with maybe testing out the new-to-me QA-42A!
 
Don: Done! It's -10C out there tonight. Jeanne reminded me it should go out in a plastic bag. Upon re-removal I found it was where it was supposed to be in the first place. We live and learn!

Frank ;I`am glade you got it sorted. I know there is a flange inside the case that holds the bearing inside the case, It did make me think why when I did the 149 years ago. I hope you remembered witch way to tap the cam pin out lol. I found that out the hard way also.

Dinner and a movie tomorrow for the Wifes birthday . I will soon spend my winter in my shop.
That will make me Happy.

Just a note about replacing the roll pins in the gear drives.I cut an old oak 2x2 17.5" long and forced it under the drive shaft to back up the hammer bloes while removing the old pins.It takes all the load off of the input shaft.I also use it to install the new roll pins.Just a note.
 
Tristan - Very nice pic & the chain for the lift is a good idea. It gives your blade the ability to float.

One might use the chain/float if your lift rod is stuck or the 3/8 welded rod to the bottom of the lift rod vs a bent rod doesn't fit very snug in the lift detents...

Hello all, I am enjoying watching all the snow and the pics of the winter with you guys and your cubs. I have recently traded my 147 for a 126 (I had a 126 long ago and finally found another). This 126 came with a creaper and I have never had a creaper. Is there anything special I need to know (such as maintenance etc.) with this new item. I search quite often for items and usually find what I need and don't get to post much.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
