Lonny,
Wisconsin law says you have to give him 90 days from the date of sale/payment received and after that it's abandoned property.
Personally I would send a Certified letter to the address he mailed it from (if you still have it), and if he doesn't reply. Sell that sucker again. JMHO

Major uh oh today folks.
First chance to work my 72 since repowering it and it appears I've broken the flywheel!
If you'd asked me yesterday I'd have said the chances were mighty slim but it sure looks busted to me. I'm letting the motor cool off right now prior to pulling it (again, sob!).
What the heck could I have gone to get myself into this state?
My current theory is that maybe one of the bolts holding the output shaft (I dunno what its really called, the shaft that goes toward the clutch) came loose and thrashed around. Whats interesting now is that the clutch and driveshaft can turn but the engine doesn't. When the engine is running it will push the tractor in first and second gear but not in third but it makes one heck of a racket!

WHEW!
Apparently the nut came off that holds the driveshaft to the engine. That piece is potmetal of some sort, the pin stayed in the flywheel and beat the daylights out of the plate. I could go in first or second based solely on the friction of the pin on the plate...
So I need a plate. Anybody got the actual name of that plate any maybe a part number

One other thing, the mowing deck on my 72 that I thought was a 38" appears to be a 42". Nevertheless its totally trashed, but I'd bought a 38" replacement deck body which is now all nicely POR15'd and painted. I even bought new 38" blades.
Will I be able to transfer the bits from the 42" deck to the 38"?
Looks like I've found a drive hub on eBay, flywheel too. I wasn't going to replace it but there are some ugly cracks around the drivepin hole so I really should.

Richard C. Thanks for the help on the pto. I finally got the shims put in and set the clearences per the manual, buttoned everything back up, and waited for the grass to grow. I tried it out today, it works great!

Spent the day at the Rantoul IL Heritage Power Tracotr Show.

Saw 3 Case 110hp steam traction engines pull a 60 bottom gang plow...WAY cool...(pics later).

Bought a new welder Friday evening...Miller 210, very big step up from my HH135 110v machine....and VERY fun to run!!!!

Lots of nice machinery to see and some old friend were there too.

Curt R.

Yes, the castings, bearings, pulleys, guards, etc. are all the same between a CI ended 38" and 42" deck.

Nide pictures Steve. Kind of reminds me that the Rock County Thresheree is next weekend north of Janesville, Wi. They have a 12 or 15 bottom gang plow there that is usually in the field with a steam engine pulling it. Any one else going to it? I plan on being there on Saturday.

Well this oughta get Tom H. fired up this mornin!

If you don't know anything about the story about the three IHC tractors pulling a Oliver 55 bottom plow about 1912, check out page 227 in 150 Years of International Harvester or commonally known as the "Red Bible" by Wendel.

I got some serious "wood" with the cream separators too.

Just picked up some separator parts from the plater yesterday, now I can really get into the restoration. Will get some pix today, and hopefully I can get Charlie to resize them for me.

Speekin' of Charlie, what's with the extended frame on that tractor?? More ponies under the hood?

I just broke the original bakelite pto disengage button on my 71. Where can I get a replacement in bronze or brass? What is the best replacement for this part and how much?
