My old ones were stolen in 2000 when we moved to Tennessee. All I have now is a 45 and 50 cal Thompson but no photos. Some where I have photos of me at Frendship Indiana competing as a mountain man about 50 years ago when I was 28 to 30 and was not as good looking as I am now.
I absolutely HATE thieves! They have been known in our area of SW Oregon to simply come up missing at some point.
Lots of folks here have backhoes and lots of rural acreage surrounded by miles of BLM forests.
I called the police after my home and shop were broken into and burgled. They do NOT respond to home alarm systems.
The police said "We don't come out to or investigate non-violent crimes, but YOU can file a report on-line if you want and we'll file it for you.. Lame.
Before they broke in, they clipped our telephone and internet lines.
Once in, they stole our inside and outside security cameras and recorders so we can't ID them and then went for the safe, guns, cash/jewelry and tools. Loaded it all in our truck and made a get-a-way. They better fear ME more than the police!

That makes me believe in Booby traps dad was a WWII marauder H Company Burma, showed me how to make a ground trip shot duck foot with 6 12 gage slugs in a row two inches apart and use a pressure trip on it when it is pressed down it would cut a coyote plum into and not leave much of a ferret or fox when tripped but you had to hide the parts in separate places and make them fit some thing that was not part of it in plane sight !!!! he always said if you can’t say anything good don’t say anything at all so if anyone ever ask what was going on, just tell them it was good ol artwork and leave it at that, he had six of us boys and made it back home alive he always said it was his answered prayers, and was that alone, the prayer and really smile !!!

So, police don't prevent crime and now they don't come out to investigate one. Hmm, why have police?

Got to be careful with bobe traps too. A farmer set up a bobe trap with a shot gun inside his empty farm house several years ago. He got the intruder but the intruders family got the farmers farm.

Nice bear. My daughter hit a bear earlier this summer and totaled her car. She was on a freeway going 65 and had only a second to slam on the brakes. The bear ran off. One tough bear, I’m guessing it probably died a short way into the woods on the other side of the highway.

Brother and I were going down the highway one night on my bike, him driving. All of a sudden, I thought he'd kicked me. He came to a stop a couple of hundred yards further and asked me "did you see the bear?" Cub came out of the woods and T-boned us. What I felt was his head . . . Dad came along in the morning, asked if we'd seen the bear cub at the side of the road. Too close, dad, too close!
