Dec.26 gift from the woods...After a season of more hours than ever I'm calling it good.My home grown 50 cal. muzzleloader just got it's 77th notch in the buttplate. I prefer 2-3 yr old does for meat quality and make no apologies for that.I haven't taken a big buck in 13 yrs and probably won't again. Point is it can still be done with a smoke pole one round ball at a time....I'm good for another year !!! ( comparison,the rifle is 50" long)
I feel like I should have added: I usually take 2 per yr.This was #2....I don't buy beef.some pork,some chicken...venison is my primary meat source...plus bluegills....Now it's time to make a lot of jerky !!!...Hope you all found your season successful with or without a deer !!!
