Well Thank You ! Yeah a pitty to throw away ! I am searching for a V60-70343J 4 cycle Vertical Engine . I bought a Tecumseh 752279A smallblock,
extra Fang ( Oil Pan ) and I Guess I got to make it work since I asked about everywhere and got always the same answer ´´out of stock ´´. :(
Maybe somebody has an idea where I can Purchess one .

The issue with the Model 60 is that reverse gear is driven by the engine's camshaft, so a very specific Tecumseh engine is needed.

I don't know that is is much help, and I don't know how long you could wait just to see, but I may have an extra short block for a 60. I say MAY because I bought a mower with the engine not running and an extra block. I'm at least few months away from getting a chance to figure out what, if anything, I need from the extra engine. I would say that if you find one in the mean time, go for it, but IF there is anything left when I get mine running, I'll try to remember to look you up to let you know. I also have no idea what shipping to Germany would be like. That is a neat little machine you have there, though.

I fell in love with these little bathtub mowers after getting into this hobby with the purchase of a 122 last summer. That led to learning about these forums and going down the rabbit hole of finding and purchasing mowers and parts. Definitely have the fever and will post other things later. At any rate, I found 2 model 60's locally that had been outside for at least 20 years, hoping to restore 1. As others have said, impossible to find the V60 Tecumseh with extended shaft for reverse. I started tearing down the best engine several days ago. Pics attached and another post coming.

These pics show what the camshaft looks like externally and removed. I joined the vintage Tecumseh group on Facebook and found out the tag in the picture represents a service replacement block from the past. Likely 20 plus years ago. After drilling out a frozen head bolt and lots of pb blaster and patience, I found almost no wear. I think honing the cylinder, rings gaskets, seals and carb kit, I should be good to go.

So, my other engine is a mess, usable for parts only. I also found out that the transmissions for these are difficult to find. They were made by foote, dana/spicer. Problem is that any left that weren't abused have water enter and rust pinion gear. Several years ago, someone shared their 60 restoration that ended up with a Briggs engine and peerless transmission, it was very cool, but essentially became a 85. I purchased a NOS transmission on ebay for a 85 special I recently purchased. A new cub friend is picking it up for me in SW Michigan and returning it to St. Louis where i will load it up to return to SW Missouri. One thing I have learned is that this is a great hobby with good people and willing to help. Refreshing in today's world!

Last post on this thread, join the Vintage Tecumseh group on Facebook, they are very knowledgeable on parts sources. That said, they are mainly replacement common parts, not blocks, cams etc. I read somewhere that a camshaft was extended by welding and machining and a hole/seal drilled in the crankcase, but that would be a huge expense.

I recently purchased 2 more 60's. I have no idea yet on condition, but like Mel Cox above, may be able to help, just don't know what I have and it will be a while before I know - probably this summer as we are moving. Let me know if you are still needing a short block, I might be able to help.

Hi , John ! Thanks for asking ! I would be more then glad to buy a short block off from you ! I built me an engine but its not original so I´mm not quit sure if it will hold like it is suppose to . Pic´s will follow shortly ! Where does one find a cub cadet these days, not on E-bay I have bin searching for years ! Regards Patrick

I was gonna say, am I seeing the case being modified to extend the camshaft? That's some incredible work! Not something you'd see everyday! I hope it all goes well for ya!
