54" Deck on 1810 ?

Got a 54" gt deck and Mule drive with a 5 3/4" deck pulley. Always heard these are nice decks and want to try it. Pto pulley is 4 1/2 and mule drive pulleys are deep v 5 1/4" pulleys. Should I proceed or look Fer an engine and put it on my 2084 ?

You'll need a 6" PTO clutch (or switch the drive pulley on the deck...read somewhere the 44/50" deck one will work) and the tall front axle from a late 1641 or 1863/4.

I have a later 1862 with the taller front axle so they might be a possibility as well?

I would get a Command V twin for your 2084..

As far as I know the 1862 never had the tall front axle. I have never seen one with it. That is limited to the 1641, 1863, and 1864. (Possibly 1440 as well)

Interesting. Perhaps someone before me did some swapping...it has an 18 hp kohler magnum but several things about it are different than my other 1862. And it came with a 54" deck and the taller axle.

GT 54s are awesome heavy decks. Easier I think to get a 4.5 pulley, hopefully a center pulley from a 50c or 44c would fit right on. Also I thought you had a 450 blower, so that would not work anymore. And also not following why the 2084 SGT needs a tall front axle since it has one?

Oh oops duh ... got it

If you only needed an inch, another idea might be to put 18x8.5-8 tires on the front with spacers to clear the steering arms.

If it is a 50C, just the correct mule drive. They were a factory option on them.
