i am wondering if thos deck will fit a 1440, i have it for sale and the person interested has a 1440. he had asked me if it will fit but i am not sure. i figure you good folks would know so i dont sell this guy something that does not fit. thank you for your help.

It would physically fit the tractor, but would need the drive pulley changed out to work. That deck is meant for a 4.5" PTO clutch. I think all of the 1440s had the larger 6" PTO clutch.
