Cub Cadet 1811. Pulling my DR Leaf Vacuum and collecting leaves. The spindles on the 1811 are not turning. I checked the deck belt... it is OK. Would the problem be from not having enough tension on the PTO belt?

Thanks, JDTaylor

We just had another thread on this. Loosen the deck PTO belt enough to verify that mule drive pulleys rotate freely, spindles move freely , and mower PTO engages properly. Then retighten mower PTO belt to proper tension. Insufficient PTO belt tension can certainly allow the deck to slow or stop, especially under the extra load of leaf work.

This could be caused by a myriad of things. Could be a bad seat switch, bad PTO, bad PTO switch, bad reverse switch, improper belt tension.

With engine shutdown, look under deck and turn one blade by hand, other blades should also rotate. If not it could be broke spindle belt, idler spring or pulley. I have experienced all these problems.

Most of been long day - reading subject line first thought that weird front wheel spindles not turning….
