Taking advantage of my engine being out, I removed the steering unit. Disassembled, cleaned, inspected. Found the cam severely worn. Replaced the cam and the original ball. Earnings with the new thrust bearings and washers. Adjusted per the manual and to gain smoothness in both directions. Rougher in one direction so I loosened the cam a little. Now with the engine back in, very stiff to turn on the move. I tried loosening the cam a little more and even the bearing end plug. No change. Have any of you experienced this?
