One of the rare ones finally made it onto the bench the other day.
Will be getting a spring freshen up/clean up and partial refurbish. Re-lined the brake pads.
Have added IH 3 point and spring assist and rebuilt the S/G.
Snugged up the steerimng box and added Heim joints to the tie rod and will "squeeze" the "C" channel and shim the axle to get rid of the "wander"
Engine will be checked out and head pulled for service. Will pull the pan as well and service the breather. Carb has been rebuilt as well
Will be getting tail lights & switch, new driveshaft, coupler, spirol pins and springs as well as resurfaced clutch plates and driver bushing.
Also rebuilding the clutch hanger and support, fixed the cracked headlamp panel and replaced the bulbs w/a matched pair of GE's.

Not going to get carried away with cosmetics though as this will make a great trouble free worker for someone when out the door it goes this spring.
Hopefully, this will assure it's survival in the years to come.
Originally appears to have had an electric lift but someone (not me) replaced it w/a manual setup.

Justin, It's just a piece of angle drilled to fit the homes where the SG mounts.
Then a piece of tube welded to it with another larger piece to slide into welded to a flat plate that bolts to, the work table is all.

What do you do in the area of the clutch arms that rides against the throw-out bearing? Weld it up and grins smooth? Replace the arm??? Just curious. I have welded them up before and it seems to work, but we mostly pull with our tractors so they don't see a lot of hours.
 
Scott, just this morning finished that up.
A little weld on the worn areas, a little time w/an end mill and file and it's hopefully good to go again.

Still have to re-drill the holes in the hanger yet.
I have put a bushing w/grease fitting in some before but its a bear to get those 1/4 bolts/nuts back in place.

Moving along nicely.
Installed the new driveshaft, coupler, springs, one of the new yokes, new clutch disc and repaired and re-machined throw out lever today.
Also reconnected the saftey neutral start switch that had been disconnected plus a new light switch. The engine is getting new head and pan gasket, front and rear seals as well as new points and plug.

Going back together. Not a restoration by any means other than mechanically.
Shimmed the front axle .027" and snugged it right up. Cant stand a wandering Cub!!
Will be put to work pulling a roller around the cemetery over last years new seeding project as soon as it dries up some after the recent rains.

I added headlights, tail lights, 3 point and spring assist.
Plus new brake pads, clutch ass'y w/new disc, spring & driveshaft.
