Cub Cadet 1450, 3600 RPM does not hold, without holding the Throttle Lever

I had to tighten some adjustment on the throttle control under the dash on my CC 149 to keep it from moving on its own. I don't remember what it was, but do recall it was obvious when I removed it from the machine. It's now a little stiffer than it would have to be, but it's better than the...

Volunteer work at the cemetery this week

Establishing grass helps gravestones maintain their stability by preventing soil erosion. The grass next to the gravestone makes trimming a little more tedious but it's beneficial in the longer term.

    Cold Feet

I received a pair of electric socks as a gift. The warnings/instruction information read not for use by people with pacemakers. Just a word of caution before purchasing.

    Cold Feet

Any thoughts on boots, socks, etc. to keep an old geezer's feet warm when moving snow? What works and what to stay away from? It didn't used to be an issue, but the old LL Bean boots and liners aren't doing the trick any more.

    Parts Wanted Looking for a S/G for a 149

I checked with a local Cub Cadet dealer and asked who they farmed their S/G work out to. They provided the name and contact info. I took the S/G there, he checked it out, etc.

    CC 149 Volt Meter

Here's the Paul Harvey: I contacted a local long time CC dealer (Covered Wagon in Sybertsville, PA) and asked to whom they farmed out their SG work. Took the SG to this guy who pulled it apart and put the armature on his growler. It immediately showed bad. He's in the process of trying to...

    CC 149 Volt Meter

No, I did not polarize the generator. I had thought about it after reading on some other sites, but searched it on this site and the consensus was as Matt G. commented, polarization takes place every time the machine is started.

    CC 149 Volt Meter

Ran the following checks/tests. Some from FAQ, some from folks on this site, some from small tractors site. Thanks to all for your input, but still I'm still working through this issue. ^ Tested the starter generator per the Cub Cadet FAQ and the unit slowed down when the F terminal was...

    CC 149 Volt Meter

The volt meter on my CC 149 has deflected several volts to the discharge (negative or left) side since I purchased the tractor used 20+ years ago. It hasn't made any difference in the tractor's operation. Recently the battery has been discharging during operation. Since the battery was about...

Does foam have the same effect on the rims as slime?

    Cub Cadet/Yanmar Rims

Looking to buy a set of rims (with or without tires) for 2012 Cub Cadet/Yanmar Sc2450 (backhoe). Tire sizes are 18 x 8.50 -10 (front) and 26 x 12.00 -12 (rear). The bolt hole patterns and sizes are identical on both front and rear rims with a 3 1/8" diameter hole for the hub and 7/16"+...

    Mower Deck Issue

Made some "adjustments" to the mower deck brackets. Spent about 5 hours trail mowing and the deck remained attached with no issues.

    Mower Deck Issue

I agree that the brackets on the mower deck were bent outward (and a little out of square with the deck), so I adjusted them inward. I will likely be on the rough terrain (maintaining a walking trail as a volunteer) in a couple weeks, so we'll see how it works out. Thanks for the assist...

    Mower Deck Issue

Yes, Matt, there is a brace on the QA assembly that doesn't show any evidence of being bent. It's a Cub Cadet 149. Deck ID looks to be 441U1_1 (not sure about the 6th character). I'm sure it's not the original deck with this tractor. I've had the tractor and deck about 20 years.

    Mower Deck Issue

I'm having trouble with the mower deck becoming detached from the quick attach when working on rough terrain where a certain amount of twisting or contact with objects (downed limbs, etc.) is experienced. It seems the deck tends to ride to one side and the spring loaded pin is removed from its...

    No-flat Tires

Looking for thoughts on no-flat tires for use on a Cub Cadet Yanmar Sc2450 backhoe (sub-compact). Factory rear tires are 26 x 12 - 12 NHS, Traction Master OTR tubeless.

The mower deck on my Cub Cadet 149 (S/N 205004704) does not lower and raise on the level. The right hand side goes through the full travel range but the left side does not. It seems like there is a pin missing on the right side that would go through the right side arm assembly and the...

The sub-frame latch must have opened enough to allow the sub-frame to be out of alignment just enough to allow the deck to sporadically fall off. I ran it today and had no trouble at all.
