You can shim the side gears in the carrier to make it somewhat like a limited slip. Helps keep them from "one wheeling".

I have a nice newer Cat 0 Brinly plow for sale. Is complete with coulter and gauge wheel. Asking $300 OBO. Located in central PA. Can email pics if interested. Local pickup preferred, but I might consider tearing it apart to ship but shipping would probably be an extra $60-100.

    Decal Placement

The tire pressure decals go on the wheels near the valve stems. The "passed chief inspector" would only be applicable to the Kubota powered models so you won't use it. I'm not familiar with the pto decal. Maybe you could post a pic? My guess without seeing it would be on the frame cover between...

    Correct paint codes for 1872

For yellow you want 759-3258 spray and 759-3263 quart. For the white you want 759-3259 spray and 759-3264 quart.

    Correct paint codes for 1872

If you go to your local Cub Cadet dealer (or try Madsen's above) and ask for the 1989 and older paint colors you will get the same colors that the tractor was painted with at the factory. When I last worked at a dealer 6 years ago CCC offered only 2 yellows and 2 whites. One (of each) for...

Lucas, Paul Bell pretty much explained it and he is 100% correct. I wasn't aware of the shifter being longer on the 70/100. Although it could probably be lengthened fairly easily by making a new shaft. The trans top shaft is another matter. You can't just cut the one from a Cub off because it...

I had the idea a long time ago to use a power steering pump from an older import car (domestic cars turn the wrong direction). An older import would have a V pulley and many used a remote reservoir. I figured it could be mounted the same as a NF factory pump, but plumbed to use the transaxle as...

The offset guides allow the valves to be moved closer together. This allows for a smaller combustion chamber which gives more compression. I assume angling the valves moves them closer to the cylinder which would do the same thing and should also improve flow.

I never had it happen myself but I have heard guys on here say that if the cam or crank end play is too much they can make a sound similar to a rod knock. I have always made sure they were in spec and never had a problem. I don't think play in the gear teeth should matter since they are helical...

The lift is .325" but I can't help on the duration. Click on the Kirk Engines sponsor button above and send Dave an email. He has the specs for the stock cam and the K361 18hp cam.

782D running at 3/4 temp gauge NO FAN

There isn't much checking needed. It is missing the part that makes it open and close.

782D running at 3/4 temp gauge NO FAN

I used a product called Purple Ice made by Royal Purple in my 882 and it seemed to make it run a bit cooler. There are other similar products from other companies out there too. I think my radiator may be partially blocked. It looks like the fan bearings went out and one time and the fan damaged...

Irvin, How serious are you about pulling that tractor? And what do your rules allow? A 782D is a valuable collectible tractor and shouldn't be cut up to build a puller. Hydros aren't well suited to pulling so if you are serious you would swap in a gear drive rearend. If you wanted to...

Should I clear use a clear coat

Jeremiah, My best recommendation is to pick a paint brand and use their complete system for primers and paint. Here again, talk to your pro and see what he uses. most body men have a favorite and like to stick with what they are familiar with. You don't "have" to stay with the same brand but...

Should I clear use a clear coat

Jeremiah, The paint doesn't have to be applied by a pro as long as proper procedures are followed. But laying the paint down and making it look smooth and glossy does take some talent, or at least practice. 90% of a good paint job is in the prep work. The more you can do yourself will usually...

Tom H X2, It sounds like what you guys are thinking of is the Brinly Gard-N-Cart. It is a grill guard that folds out to carry things on. I have only ever seen them to fit an Original and NFs. It wouldn't be too hard to build something similar to fit a WF. It could be made quick-tach by starting...
