Most anytime there is notch on a piston it goes towards the flywheel. Some even are marked with an arrow and FLY. As for the valves, just depends on who made them if they are marked or plain.

Terry, The block will be fine to use. Just dress up the edges where it broke. The rings don't get down that far in the cylinder. In fact, we have to grind notches like that on both sides of the cylinder when we use the billet 4 bolt rods in our pullers for clearance.

Richard, The aluminum grill castings used on some of the QL 1xxx series will bolt right your 128. you may need to change the hinge or drill new holes as they are spaced differently if I recall correctly. I usually just use the QL hood too.

Don T, Crank has to come out to get the cam out, unless the block is broken. What I'd like to know is how you changed a govenor gear without taking the engine apart.

Daniel, Could be a valve sticking open when it heats up. Ususally these take a couple minutes to cool down and close themselves. Next time it dies, listen closely at the top end of the engine for the valve slamming shut, a loud ping or click sound. If that's it, some Marvel Mystery Oil, (MMO)...

Matt on my 16 altered I have the tank on the right side frame rail and the pump/regulator on the left frame rail just ahead of the foot rest. Have used this setup on all my tractors. Hope this helps.

Charles, If you sent it to Oaks they will know what to do w/o having the piston. They do all of the engines I build. Just check your ring end gap before installing piston no matter where you took the block.

It's been quiet here in central Ohio because it rained out 2 scheduled pulls here and 1 rain date for our SEOGTPA club. We'll see what happens in 2 weeks!!

Wyatt, On the older 3 digit model combines, the feeder house was part of each head. They detached from the combine under the cab at the thresher cylinder. PIA to mount the headers!! We had an old 303 model for a few years as a 3rd combine to our prefered Gleaners.

Mickey, Better check rules of clubs you may pull with before you move the axle. Most stock classes won't allow it. Here's the web site of our home club. www.seogtpa.org It's a few miles east of Circleville,Ohio. We pull lawn stock up through the NQS classes, a kids class and a powder puff...

C.D. There's a few things going on most likely. The shift forks are probably spread a bit where the shift lever goes into them. Pop off the shifter cover, squeeze them together so the shifter just goes into them, then put a tack weld on them so they can't spread again.Put some wet rags around...

Terry, The Case garden tractors were built by Ingersoll. Ingersoll still builds and sells them under their own label. A few refinements have been made, but are still basically the same set-up. Parts can still be cross referenced for the Case models.

Wyatt, AT 4OOO RPM's, it'll be fine. That's only 400 more than stock rated RPM's, and the lift on the k361 cam is the same. It will actually take a little less effort for the cam to open the valves, which in pulling terms on a lawn stock class engine means more power to the ground. I got a...

Charlie, It's usually a clearance thing. Some of the 6/6 offset wheels will just allow the tire to rub the frame, depending on the axle length. I had mine made 1/2" longer than stock for my stock altered. On some of the stock tractors with external brakes, the aluminum wheels hit the calipers...
