Had everything out of the barn for an open house-good excuse to get a photo. Brothers Super A with our model 40 IH people mover, my IH 782, my 77 Scout SSll, 856 pedal tractor, my 69 IH 1000, brothers 63 Cub Lo-Boy. Should have stuck my 72 out there for the yellow and white representation -...

    1872 rear lift

Would the "factory" tiller for a 1872 be a 3 pt / shaft drive, or have it's own power plant? Someone told me all Supers have a shaft out of top of rear - to add a rear PTO option. I think that type of tiller will be hard to find in Mi and be pricy.

    1872 rear lift

Great info Steve. Really appreciate it. My neighbor is interested in purchasing a 1872 from me, but we are looking at lift options for him. I have a wide frame single point from a 782.

    1872 rear lift

Were the single point lifts ever offered on the Super Garden's? If not, will it bolt up? The only thing I think would have to be modified from the standard 782 lift is the lift arm would have to be lengthened. If the lift was offered I assume a belt was/is available for a #1 Tiller.

    1100 Memoribilia

Found this at an antique mall a while back. Didn't buy it, but told my wife about it, and surprise - she bought it a few months later for my birthday. I don't have an 1100 (yet) but this will look cool in the IH man cave.

Truckin' and Trailerin' our Cub Cadets

Thanks Kraig. Here is my other CC hauler. I have hauled CC's, Implements, and my 526 Cadet Tiller to a few local shows with the Scout. It is a 77 SSll. I may have posted it in the past when it was either tan or olive drab.

Truckin' and Trailerin' our Cub Cadets

Thanks Mike. It came with one new rocker - to install, but needs 2. All original 60,000 some miles 232 6 cyl 3 speed. Box has only a few small holes in it. Runs and drives great. It will be fun to putt around in.

New barn for the IH "Toys". 72 under the entry roof, 100 w/ blower and 104 with blade ready for snow. Yes this is a photo from about 1 month or so ago - 50's and sunny here in Mi this week. Only had to plow twice this winter - bummer.

New to me 69 IH 1000 short box. I plan to stick my CC 72 in the back and take it to a few shows this summer.

    More 1872 questions

Thank you Jim and Steve. It does have a new filter and quite a bit of new fluid. It acted better last time I ran it, but carb is acting up so I am waiting for a new kit to come now. When I get it running again I will let you guys know how it is performing.

    More 1872 questions

Thanks Jim. The steering isn't catching, just a little jerky and definitely not a one finger deal. Your probably right about the air. I will check that out.

    More 1872 questions

My 1872 fixer upper is now running and mowing. I ended up borrowing a carb while I wait for my kit to arrive. It runs great wide open but starts a little hard and still surges at low and mid RPM's. I will look in my Kohler book - trouble-shooting - if it still does this after I re-build my...

    1872 surging

Thanks guys. It has new - correct gapped plugs. I tore the carb apart and it looks suprisingly good, but I cleaned it. I was just going to clean, but the bowl gasket did not come out in one pc, so will have to get a kit now regardless. Hopefully the carb will solve the problem, as I am...

    1872 surging

After two years of sitting "in a corner", I pulled my 1872 into the shop and put it back together. The engine mount bolts had come loose for the PO and the shaft (rubber disks) had ripped out. So it is back together and will be my main mowing tractor. Started it yesterday and it will not run...

My choice for snow removal is chains on turfs, but to be fair I have never tried chains on my ags. I did try 10.50 ags without chains a few years ago with maybe 100lb of wheel weights and found on my concrete approach area and even some on my gravel I would spin. Last year I had 180lb of wheel...

Mike - Depends on whether your garage has a ceiling or not in my opinion. I work construction and the Mr Heater style you picture tends to send all the heat up. It will warm up a space, but if you have open trusses / rafters it will be real toasty up high. I prefer a torpeo style as it directs...

Daniel M.- Correct the 392 was never avail in a Scout. 152 and 196 (1/2 of a 392)both avail 69 -72, then 152 dropped. Nissan diesel came out in 76. Turbo 152 avail for a few years as well. Bill R. - My Dad had a beater 61 Scout as well w/ a snow plow. It was a great vehicle for plowing...

Interesting info on weights. So... Steve B, Tom H, Kraig - Were the plastic weights pictured avail with IH 82 series and continued with CCC MTD models? Were cast iron 26lb weights ever available with IH 82 series? The copy of factory literature shows MTD model #'s - would those have had the IH...

Thought you all might enjoy seeing a 982 being towed in parade on a model 1200 IH trailer pulled by my Dads 61 Scout 80. Pic was taken in about 1979. Sorry for the quality, but it is a pic of the original pic. Dad was a mech at a full line IH dealer & I worked there through high school 1979 to...
