    I was going to use #kh-24-874-48-S piston assembly which is .10 over but not available ,either is the #kh-24-874-49-S assembly , maybe any other aftermarket out there that may work.

    I am overhauling a 1864 C.C. has a Kohler CH18S engine , cylinders need to be bored out, but having trouble locating oversize pistons, thru Kohler they are no longer available, wondering if any other sources out there to locate parts, thanks for any information.

    Recently bought cub cadet 169, the engine k341 is getting overhalled, engine was rebuilt before and balance gears were removed and left out, debating now if I should install them, you read pro and con about them on line. wondering what experience anyone has with them, thanks, Paul.

    Recently bought a 364 cub blower and mounting on a 782 but missing rear brackets for square tubing that mount to back end, has anyone made there own brackets and how do they mount to frame may be fabrication time.

    overhallng a 129 k301 engine are the crank brgs the same, one has a #3308 & other #308, book only list one brg. st-436p will that work for both of them, thanks, Paul

    Rebuilding my original cub and air cleaner base has a L bracket on backside with two holes in it, but no where to fasten to, thought may mount at side of carb, but nothing there, is this correct base for original with kohler k181, thanks for any input. Paul

    Purschased sleeve hitch off 1450, installing on own 1450, bar fits fine, but no room for 7/8 jam nuts on inside frame which supports upper hitch, spacers spot welded on inside, if spacers were removed I think it would fit,are they there for a reason, anybody have this happen before. Thanks.

    I am working on 125 cadet searching for the rubber hood locks & apacers, #ih-38-4906-r1 is spacer & #ih-393859-r2 is rubber lock for hood, discontinued thru C.C. anyone know where to locate these to replace them, thanks.

    rebuilding my 1450 cadet, first time rebulid for myself, bored out to .10 over, installed new piston & rings, turning engine over it takes some effort to turn over by hand by grabbing crankshaft,this may be normal for a new overhall & wear in over time,is this common.

    Have a 1450 and switching hyd. lift arm for valve which was held by a rollpin and kept breaking roll pins, going to later style which has slot cut in arm & bolt pinches halves against shaft tight, does this solve my problem or will the arm work loose over time, any suggestions would be...

    Charlie thanks for your oil offer, I have straight 30w oil, I will pick up some 5w-30w oil to run thru winter months then go back to the straight 30w oil for summer.

    With cold weather here do many people use multi-grade oil 5w-30w in the old kohler engines, been using straight 30w in summer but thinking thinner oil for starting, book says 10w but hard to find, any suggestions,winter around the corner got to get the cadets ready.

    Charlie the cab is all enclosed and is not a windbreaker, I will compare the brackets to what I have to the pictures you have, this will be a big help. I will have to think about the blower pulley switching, plenty time for that. Paul
