    Model 451 Blower Fan

Update: Well, I was never able to get the impeller fan off from the shaft. I tried heat, pb blaster, big hammer, small hammer.... In the end, I had access to an old 450 blower and took the gearbox and fan from that unit and transplanted into the 451. Everything is working fine. My next...

    Model 451 Blower Fan

Thanks for the replies. I was unable to free the fan from the gearbox shaft so I took the gear box apart and pulled the gearbox shaft out the front with the fan still attached. I will use some PB blaster and heat to seperate the parts. I am using the 451 blower on my 782. Did I read correctly...

    Model 451 Blower Fan

I need to straighten the paddles on my 451 Blower Fan. I can not find a picture showing how the gear box output shaft attaches to the fan shaft to seperate the two. Basically, how do I get the fan out of the unit. Thanks.

A cab for my 1712 and a question

Matt; I just put a 451 blower on my 782. I was a bit disapointed in the throwing distance as well. My QA36 seems to throw it as far. I checked the impellar and noted some of the flights were bent back and the tops were rolled over a bit. I have nothing to compare it to so I do not know how it...

I sorted out my crankcase breather issue. In a nutshell, I must have had a stuck float that filled the crankcase with gas. That appears to be the culprit. I cleaned the breather and resealed it and then changed the oil. Hopefully, that will be the end of it.

Help! I took apart the crankcase breather assembly on a Kohler KT17 to check it out. After putting it back together and starting the engine, I have oil spraying out of the breather hose that attaches to the carb. I checked the schematic in the manual and I think I have it put together correctly...

Looking for a lift handle extension bracket to connect the lift rod from a model 450 blower to the hydraulic lift arm on a 782. The owners manual list this as part 794-5415. I have also seen it listed as 784-5415. Thanks.

Kendell & Aaytay; Thanks for the help with the carb problem. I have taken the carb apart again, cleaned up everything and readjusted the float to spec. I still have the same problem, no accelaeration without full choke. I have removed the fuel filter from the fuel line trying to eliminate...

Kendell; I set the float twice. If I follow what you are saying, I may have the tab bent too far so that the float hangs down too low when the carb is upright in its normal position. This would let too much fuel in? I think the spec called for the distance to be about 1 1/32" in the down...

Help needed for Kohler Carb; I have just re-installed the carb on my 782. I added a throtle shaft bushing to account for some play in the shaft. It is now tight. I also cleaned out the carb and changed the inlet needle and seat as well as all of the gaskets. The tractor starts, but I can not...

Hello; Does anyone recognize what this is or what it fits on? I picked it up this winter with a qa36 blower. Seller did not know what it was either. Thanks.

Starter Maintenance; Looking for some advice on how you would go about cleaning up the inside of a starter. There was quite a squeal when the starter engaged or just after it pulls back in. I pulled it apart and the brushes look ok, but the armature and the case is pretty dirty. Any thoughts on...

I was wondring if anyone has a suggestion for a tractor seat that resist cracking in the cold weather, short of a metal pan. I need a new seat for my 782 and would like one that stays together in the cold weather. Maybe they all crack in the cold as they get older. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Aaytay; Thanks for the pics. I had to tear things apart to get at the internal brakes. The piston was froze up and I could not get it to move from the front. I am in the middle of a restoration on my 782 and took the oppurtunity to fix the brakes while the tractor was in pices. Hope to get it...

Matt, No manual yet. After looking at a parts online page, I see there is a compression cap like a freeze plug on the other end of the pinion shaft. I think that cap comes off & there is a retainer behind it. Thats tommorow nights job. After that, I will be cleaning all of the internal parts and...

Matt:I tried your suggestion about pulling the brake piston out with no luck. I just came in from breaking down the transmission. Everything is out except the pinion shaft and the reduction gear that drives it. I am kinda stuck at this point as I do not know how the pinion shaft comes out. It...
