Got to a round-to-it today, catching up on some sorely needed chores that have been neglected. Been a while - thought I'd post while I was at it. Got the 1650 with 14hp transplant going again this evening. No snow to merit using the snow blade, so took it off and putting on a mowing deck...

    Don T.

Don't post much if any these days - active with other stuff. Still check-in from time to time though. Just now seeing Don's passing. Don T was a great guy IMHO. Had several email exchanges with him. Don made a great forum even better. RIP Bill

    Hay equip. where to start?

IMHO - one of the best bangs for the buck is the AC WD45. With the hand clutch, they essentially have live PTO - which is very nice for the sickle mower and baler. If not already done, they can be easily converted to a 3 pt hitch, though the snap coupler hitch is IMHO a pretty neat design -...

Last call on the pin-on blade listed earlier. $40 now. Next stop is the scrap metal recycler.

Quick Question - anyone tried an MWSC underdrive gear set? Thinking about putting one in my 126 with the 20% gear reduction. It should bring 2nd gear down to 3.1 mph from 3.9 and 1st gear down from 2.3 mph to 1.8 IMHO - for the terrain I mow, this would slow the tractor enough to make it...

    SCOUT II On the "Bachelor"

The 190ish cu-in 4 cylinder was 196 cu-in. My 1970 Scout 800A had this engine in it and it was a real good engine. That Scout was the handiest vehicle I've ever owned. Plenty of room to haul a load of people and cargo too. It would go anywhere. The Scout did not have the high center ground...

While the IH fleet is out of action waiting on repairs, picked up this to wrap my iPhone (from TSC on clearance) to give more meaning to snapping the next IH pic....

    Hay equip. where to start?

Jeff B - don't know what your land layout looks like, but around my neck of the woods, small fields are the norm. With it came many Ford and Massey Ferguson tractors - smaller ones around 38-ish PTO hp. Models like the Ford 2, 3 and 4 thousand series tractors and the MF 35, 50 and 135 type...

Pulled, make that CUT out the POS wiring harness from the 126. Working-up my own wiring harness. Should be finished in a few years...

David S - I took a Q-tip and put a little white paint on it and used that to put a dab of paint on the timing mark. Easy to find and see now with the timing light!

I got rid of the sediment bowl on my 126 in favor of an inline filter. Just my preference - pretty no hassle replacement for a worker. If I were doing a collector/100 point resto, I'd do whatever it takes to make the fuel bowl work. However on the camp mower - only so many hours before...

Trent P - you get yourself over on the FAQs and do some searching before you ask any questions (even quick questions) else Dennis F will talk down to you and/or tear your head off for asking... BTW - WELCOME to the forum, IMHO - the 1450 is a GREAT tractor!!! SHULTSIE!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT...

    BCS Tillers

Pulled out my Dad's old BCS tiller over the weekend to finish plowing my garden. This tiller is a 735 model, is all gear drive. The handles can be rotated 180 degrees and a mower or snow thrower can be mounted. My Dad made a lot of garden with this tractor over the years, he bought it when...

    Wheelhorse

Jeff B - thanks! I know that fellow, he makes all kinds of reproduction and custom decals for the Wheelhorse tractors. Speaking of tractor shows - there is a great Wheelhorse get together every year. This year it is Friday & Saturday, June 20-21, 2014 and is at South Mountain Fairgrounds -...

    Snapper

Jeramiah - thanks! Around my neck of the woods, we had a dealer that sold Snapper and Lawnboy. The only other tractors sold around here were Sears Suburban as we had a Sears mail order outlet store. Lots of Snappers around and Lawnboys too. I had an aunt that lived in western North...

What am I suppose to do with these

There is a hex socket pipe plug on the under side of the transmission. Open it and your tranny will drain. The refill tube is under the seat. It takes 2 qts of SAE 90w Service GL-5 gear lube. There was a time when Wheelhorse recommended 85w-140, I have ran both - no problems. Mostly now I...

    Snapper

Added a Snapper to the fleet. Runs, carb needs a kit and a good cleaning - otherwise appears to be OK. Has a 30 inch dedicated side discharge deck (vs the round hi-vac/mulching) which I prefer. $50 yard sale find...
