thanks Harry, I really appreciate all the leg work. I'm going to visit my nearest TSC and McMaster CArr this weekend and shop pulleys. I talked to the prior owners grand daughter and she seemed to think they may have stuffed the parts i need in boxes in her garage. But they will not dig them...

Harry, i found an old post on here about a 2B tiller lower pulley. I'm not sure what the differences are between my 2 and the 2B series. The pulley part number is different. https://www.ihcubcadet.com/forum/messages/106/76116.html?1201222552 Hub inside diameter is .75" with 3/16 key slot and...

Harry, the pulley on the output is the same part number as the input on the thrower gear box. So I should be good there. The qa42 has a pulley with a longer hub if I need to space it ouT.. Your kind of at the same thought I am, change pulleys to match what ever the out put is supposed to be. I...

I'll look up the shaft part numbers later. Can any one help with the lower pulley size. OD and the length of the hub if possible. I'm going to try the thrower box and hope the tiller doesn't destroy it.

Thanks Charlie and Matt G for the info. This is helpful but disappointing at the same time. This 124 was kind of a basket case with it and all the attachments. I was hoping the tiller would be easier than the rest had been. this brings me to a couple more questions. Do you know what the lower...

I acquired a #2 tiller for my 124 last weekend. I have the mount for the back of the transmission but i'm going to have to use the gear box from my snow thrower. What i am stuck on is the lower pulley. I see the upper pulley is the same as the thrower uses. I have two of those pulleys, can i...

I need to fix the steering knuckles/axle on my 70 and 124. Both of my spindles are loose in the axle housing. Can i use a 149 knuckle and king pin boring the hole to fit the spacer? I see in the FAQ a super steering axle of a 82 series. Is that the way to go? thanks

hysroHarry, thanks for the clarification. i am looking at Kohler cross reference sheet. It did not have the max wear on it. You are correct, i missed the extra one. So that 1.184 maybe why it is such a good price... back to the drawing board. thanks

need some crank shaft opinions. i found a k161 crank for my 70 online for what i feel is a fair price. I see the spec book calls the crank pin diameter 1.86. Seller claims his used crank is 1.84. Is it safe to say i would not have to have this turned and i can run a standard size rod...

i'm working on ordering my spindle bearings for my 42 inch deck on my 124. The 473430r91 shows to be a 2 piece cone style bearing. I see options for other bearings that are cylindrical. Is that a better way to go?

Charlie, if my attachments drift down when the tractor is running; is that a sign the pump is wore and not holding pressure or the cylinder seals leaking past? I'm not used to a pump with an internal valve. Do you know what the pump pressure is supposed to be?

Dennis, your saying move the support closer to the operator? It does make sense.

Can someone measure the length of the chute turn rod on their qa42. I think mine is not correct, i really have to reach for it. Also i am missing the holding rod that sits on the quick hitch frame that holds this rod, can someone measure that for me too. I need to make one. thanks matt

Thanks Dale for the pictures. I will weld a nut on then. I like the strap, is it something you made or bought? i see them in the CC-36 operators manual.

i need to make some frame repairs to my 70 and i need some opinions. My second hole back on the frame for the mule drive on the front is significantly enlarged. I thought about welding a nut to the inside of the frame. Will that interfere with sliding the engine out? Would just a thick washer...

good morning all! Can someone shoot me a pic or a better break down of how the creeper shift handle seals into the housing on my 124? I see a groove in the housing on the handle side for an oring and a hole in the shaft for maybe a cotter pin? I think it needs a washer to back it though. the...

Thanks David. I have to pull the engine and wanted to pull the front off at the same time. I will look for cracks. On another note, I now have a 42" snow push box...... I think I found why the qa42 wasn't performing like i felt it should. When the prior owner put new bearings on the auger...

I like the 12hp of the 124, but I miss my 70. So time to start the winter repairs. That brings a few questions for You all. First, why does my hood hit my steering wheel when I open it? It all seems and looks original.I do not see any adjustments to the column to raise it. second, will the...

Thanks Kraig for the tips. I will check out the inside tonight. I do not recall seeing any rust but will grab some slip plate. Another question, i see a 125 on my local CL. Would like a hydrostatic over a clutch for the ease of operation for the family. My concern is the hydrostatic system...

Gerry, thanks for sharing your experience. Im going to see how the 42 does tonight on the fresh snow. I may make new holes in the qa42 mount to fit the CC36. I do like the quick hitch.
