Dennis Frisk: It took me a few days but your idea to slip the clutch for a bit on my 122 has at least temporarily solved my problem. Not to say it wont come back but I drove it around for a while tonight and it didn't stick once! Thanks!

Dennis: The rust things sort of makes sense, I pressure washed it just before it really started acting up. I'll get it loose and try slipping it a bit. That's pretty much the only option that doesn't mean pulling the clutch out. Steve: I don't think so, you can see the pressure being...

I have a 122 that clutch wants to stay engaged. You can tap the disks to break the loose again but it just seems to want to go back to being stuck. It seems to be the front one (near the engine) more then the back one. The gap looks good, it's almost like the disks are sticking to the...

Anyone have an extra narrow frame Quick attach mule drive sitting around?

Thanks Kraig, I think I've got it figured out now. There's two different sub-frames/mule drive setups based on deck serial numbers. They both will work I just need to make sure I match the correct mule to the correct sub-frame. Unless I can mismatch, which I don't know.

So...if I wanted to install the QA42" deck from my 129 on my 122 what would I need? I know I would at least need the NF QA Mule gear, would I need the sub-frame too? My manual show it will bolt on but doesn't really tell me what parts are different.

Sorry about that Charlie, I'm guessing I should have asked in the mod section. Either way I'll give it a try, it's not like it's a huge investment and any improvement will be welcomed.

Donald: Thanks for the idea but I'm sure that's not going to help. We've owned this tractor since it was new and have always run a little extra tire pressure just for this reason.

So...how well does the "easy steer" kit really work? I'm thinking about letting my sister use my diesel to mow her lawn but the biggest issues is steering effort. If it really does help then that might be the ticket. She's fine now at speed but creeping and in tight spaces she's having a...

On the previous message, how about $150 for the lot, the rest you will have to email me sense it would be a pretty long list.

It's time to clean up the garage a bit. I have bits and pieces of an original that's a pretty low serial number, 3 digits but I don't recall the exact number off the top of my head. Frame and front axle are toast. The engine is more or less good for parts (ie needs to be rebuilt). Can do a...

So this 122 I'm working on has the older style bushing/bearing in the top of the steering column, the one that's tapered and sets into the metal holder that on the top of the column. My question is what holds it into the metal piece? It I push it down in there's very little slop so it's not...

Frank: Thanks for the info. By linkage you mean from the governor arm etc? If so I think I can swap that over pretty easily. The only think I can think of is the dip stick is probably different and of course the whole hydro/clutch mounting. Oh and I used to have a 169 too. It was a...

Hi Guys, Long time since I've posted here but I still lurk from time to time. Anyway, there's no reason an engine from a 122 wouldn't swap over to a 129 is there? I've got the basket case engine out of the 129 if any parts were needed.

Thanks Ken, I have both of those too, I don't have a service manual for the chassis though. They're really expensive for what they are, I want to make sure I get them in there right! K

What may be a silly question... 782D, new engine mounts, do you just tighten them up until you feel them stop (metal on metal)? That what I think I had to do with the old ones but the new ones look a lot different. Thanks, K

Gerry & Ken, Thanks guys. Sorry I forgot about the load issue, I'm getting all this from emails so details are hit or miss. Once upon a time this used to be my tractor, I'm learning that you shouldn't sell to friends. None the less this came on all of a sudden, so maybe a spring it...

Gerry, Thanks but I think I left out one important bit. He says that it seems to be working the engine harder. Like he turns up a small hill and it requires more forward (which the stuff you suggested sounds right for this) but he says it seems to work the engine a lot harder then it used...

So I have a 169 that seems to be acting up. The word is (trouble shooting this for a friend so the details are a little bit sketchy) he has to move the hydro lever a lot more then normal to get the thing to move. From what he says he has to move the handle all the way to the stop in reverse to...
