    26/12/12 tires on 149

If you want something just a bit bigger than 23-10.50-12's, try Deestone 26-12-12's 8 ply lug tires. They are not as wide or tall as most 26-12-12's. Decent priced. Plus they will fit the rims that came factory on a 149. They say 8ply...but that seems overrated. Had no problems mounting them...

Cub 70 and 100 battery boxes.

Kraig, Here are the serial numbers from my 70 and 100. I thought both were '64 models. But according to the chart I referenced the 70 is a '63 model. Model 70- #71926 built Dec 1963--large battery box Model 100- #91940 built Aug 1964--small battery box with acorn nut steering wheel (steering...

Cub 70 and 100 battery boxes.

My all original 70 that my wife's uncle bought brand new has the large battery box. My 100 has the small box. Both are '64 models. This has been discussed before, but don't remember the outcome.

    Here's a long shot question!

This reminds me of when Paul Bell built his model 70 or 100 Orchard Cub Cadet. He bolted the hood ornament on backwards so it wouldn't be catching those low hanging branches!

Marty Gwin, Those 23-10.50 Tru Powers' look good on the back of your 100. Perfect choice to go along with the V61's on the front. Excellent job!

David Schwandt, That is cool you are behind the wheel of a big rig again. Once a trucker...always a trucker! Good looking Pete they have you driving. Looks like the same color as my pulling tractor over in the pulling section of the forum!

Timothy Deese, I have an all original Model 70 that was bought new by my wife's uncle that has the big battery box. Some people have told me only the early 100's came with the big battery box.

Here's another special one... Guess the starter/generator stopped charging?

Billy, Guess that does make my #2 cart an early one also since mine does not have a serial plate. I often wondered if the tire/wheel combo on mine was indeed original. Now I'm sure it is!

William, Here is what my all-original #2 trailer has on it. Exactly what you described on yours. Go to the manuals section on here and look under trailers for IH 2 Trailer. Pictures (wish they were more clear) kinda make me think they are the same also. Wish mine had the center caps that...

Mike, In your case you left out Chirp! The 12hp engine I had that was hard starting, I found the ACR was keeping the exhaust valve open, but just not far enough. Adjusted to spec per the manual with dial indicator and WHA-LA....no more spin-stop, spin-stop. Cranked over just the way it should...

Mike, Not to beat a dead horse here, but was the ACR checked to make sure it was actually keeping the valve open before the head was bolted on? Tab on camshaft may need adjusting. Timing, ACR, weak generator, or weak battery are about the only things that usually cause the spin-stop, spin-stop...

Mike, I wonder if the ACR is functioning like it should. I had a 12hp that had the same symptoms. ACR was not working. One end of the actuating spring was not hooked up on the camshaft. Just an idea.

I made it a plowing weekend. Friday evening and Saturday at Blunier's Plow Day. Sunday at my sister and brother-in-law's garden pictured below. Big "THANK YOU" to the Bluniers for putting on the Plow Day event. I had a blast!

Harry, Edges of pulleys look and feel even to me. They are worn, but worn evenly. Camera angle on first pic may have been deceiving. I'm thinking my set-up MAY be close to right. The pieces of metal that the pulleys mount to are perfectly flat. Not bent. They are welded with a slight angle in...

Don , Like everyone else, just glad to help out. If you got the belt from Charlie, rest assured, it is correct. Only thing I can see is it looks like the mule drive pulleys are bent in towards each other too much. Wait to see what others have to say.

Don, Let's see if I can start a mule drive debate like I started the lift lever debate. Just remember who told you about the bent lift lever!! I believe you have the correct subframe and mule drive for your 122. There is no spring for this setup. There is no hole for a spring on the front of...
