    1650 Cub w/ K341 Engine (Bad Compression)

valve job and rings are cheap to restore compression. Do a leak down test to confirm wear the leak is coming from.

    IH model 70 engine question

Usually Bad Caps run crappy from the get go. (don't ask how I know this) My money is on the coil. I actually bought a cheap cap tester and the engine that was giving me fits had a dead cap! Coils that are suspect go bad when they get hot is my experience.

    1250 Engine Trouble

Bad condenser had me going nuts. I bought a new one that was bad out of the box, even bought a cheap Chinese Cap tester to confirm. Once a "good old one" was installed, she started with no choke and revved up just fine.

Engine swap from a narrow frame to wide frame

Joe, I sent you an email. I had a similar engine in a Deere 214 that only needed a quick hone and rings. She's been purring for 3 years since then with no issues. Some of my customers want a show quality painted engine. If that's the case then it better be squeaky clean when I get it. And...

Engine swap from a narrow frame to wide frame

You're better off rebuilding the AQS Motor. The 147 engine probably doesn't have the threaded boss for the muffler box. I know the 147 is an S/G engine, so the S/G would stick out the RH side and not allow the QL cover to be put on. I would do a +.010 hone, new piston, rings and rod, and a...

    early QL 341s

I've seen K321's with that dipstick, like on a 147, but never on a K341. It's a handy feature to have, especially if you have issues propping up the hood.

    My 107

Vince, the 107 was my first IHCC 20 years ago that started my Yellow Fever! I met some stranger named Hydro Harry and I've been addicted ever since! IMHO the K241 was the best engine Kohler ever made (in the K series that is). Smooth as silk without balance gears. Good luck!

    Professor Chabot siting!!

He actually mentioned singing as Harry was a well sought out Baritone come Christmas time (Handel's Messiah). I saw the Chabot FB video where he belts one out, what a set of pipes!

    Professor Chabot siting!!

Haven't seen Jim in years, Hydro Harry's son Matt and I caught up with him at the Zagray show this past weekend, still looks the same, and still a wealth of IHCC knowledge. He says he's selling some of his CC's so anyone near Norton Mass has a chance to buy a Jim Chabot CC. He has a 102 with a...

Austin, is the condenser attached on the points side (negative) of the coil? Are your valves adjusted to the right gaps?
