    OK everyone update engine installed for last time and noticed I had condenser on Positive side of coil . Don't know how I did that but the dummy corrected it. So corrected this along with static timing and correcting valve lash exhaust was off some and fired it up and ran smoothly problem fixed...

    Removed engine for 3rd and final time. Found hole for static timing on front side of Brg plate. Removed pan and checked cam to crank timing is right on. Adjusted valves again never realized the compression release on cam changes valve lash setting so corrected lash settings to .020 ex and .010...

    Yes points have been set as low as .015 and it runs worse. Ran the best at .032. Valve lash set at .010 and .020 Will have to get with my neighbor to take pictures and try and post.

    Yes engine idles fine then misses as you try to accelerate throttle. Have not checked condenser yet, but will in next day or so and let everyone know. Cannot static time engine because cover does not have hole in it. Bought this 149 about 15 years ago previous owner had replaced original engine...

    Well put on and started with New Carburetor runs the same idles smooth when you accelerate misses and spits out the Carburetor. Put on old points no difference. Checked fuel flow. Any other suggestions fellows.

    Pulled engine to double check crank and cam shaft timing. It was right on. Have replaced spark plug, Coil wire, Coil, Condenser, and points. Cleaned fuel tank and added new filter, rebuilt carb. Points push rod is OK. Still runs terrible off idle. At idle it runs OK. Checked valve lash again...

    Carburetor was fine before rebuilding engine but I pulled it apart and cleaned and installed new kit. Has anyone put one together with it out one tooth and will it run?

    Flywheel Interchangeabilty

    I didn't want to change wiring but I think I will to keep 1450 flywheel. I plan on putting my 50" deck on this tractor and need all the hp available. Tried mowing with 12 hp worn out motor and 50" deck and couldn't handle it.

    Have a 1450 Kohler engine I rebuilt and plan on putting in a 129 frame. Will Flywheel from 12hp work on 14hp without any balance issues? Tried searching for any threads related but computer idiot and cannot find anything. Thanks everyone for any help.
