    982 Onan engine

I'm trying to decide what to do with the Onan engine I took out of my #1 982. It appears there are no rebuild kits for these. Pistons/rods. Should I take off some the parts I would use for my #2 982 ignition stuff, stator, voltage regulator, starter, mufflers and carburetor and scrap the rest...

    1X9/8 Grille insert springs

Hi Guys, I'm further working on the 169 and just wondering if this is how the grille springs are suppose to attach? I don't see any wear in this area from a previous spring. Is there something missing or broken? The grille insert was held in with bolts and nylon lock nuts. Also, has anyone...

Part # for throttle shaft repair kit

Hi Guys, I'm looking for the part # that I need to repair my throttle shaft on my 169 Cub Cadet. I'm having trouble finding the correct part #. I know I can get a bronze bushing from the Hilman's fasteners at my local hardware store, but they don't stock the correct size. Thanks, Jim

Does anyone know where part # 4 attaches to? I believe it goes around the throttle cable but not sure where the mounting hole is suppose to attach to.... It has a Kohler part # and figure it attaches to the engine somewhere to keep the throttle cable out of the way of something but not sure...

So a friend sent me a text..

At the beginning of this month I received a text at work with this picture. He asked me if I'd be interested in a 1282. I said sure! Tell me a bit about it and what they want for it. He said he'd get back to me a little later. He text me later and said it's from an estate that the family...

1650 carburetor throttle and choke kit part #

What is the part number for the kit to bush and replace the choke and throttle shafts? Manual talks about it and tells you how to do it but does not give a part #. Can't seem to find it anywhere else. Maybe it's not available anymore? Thanks, Jim

    Mystery part

Hello, Can anyone tell me if and where this belongs on my 169? It came with a box of stuff with the tractor. My guess it's a washer for the front wheel? Maybe it doesn't belong at all with it. :errrr: Thanks, Jim

    Haban snow thrower discussion

I see from the parts look up Haban throwers were mostly used on the Quite Line and the 82 series. Can they also be used with tractors like the 108-169 series? Are certain Haban models for certain series of tractors? Meaning lifting connections, belts, sheaves are different? Do they...

    IH 86 series and FWA

Was wondering what the production changes were made thru the years of the 86 series tractors. I was fortunate enough to be able to drive a 1586, 1486 with FWA, 1086 and a 986. I recall there was a hydraulic change from open to closed center at one point and I want to say the closed center you...

Finally got some time to post a few pictures of my latest find. I picked this up begining of August. My first gear drive, a 128. I do need to put some work into the clutch. The friction disk holes are baddly wore. Probably just hanging in there. I'm sure if I was pulling something with...

The gentleman with the 582 (not special) called me tonight. I'm going to go look at it tomorrow night. Harry, I asked more about the electric PTO clutch he said it engages with the key on and engine off. If you grab the clutch, you can spin the engine. If the engine in running and flip...

Anyone know what mirror this is for?

Hi Guys, Happy Fathers Day! My father in-law asked me if I knew what kind of mirror this is for. He thought a corvette car. I'd say so myself but I don't know much about corvettes. He goes to car shows and none of the corvette people know if it belongs on a corvette. It has two...

    Another 982 refurbish

I've been working on this 982 for over a year now. Last year was spent disassembling the tractor and cleaning bolts and parts. Over the winter I've been taking parts to a local powder coating shop. Had also been collecting parts that needed to be replaced due to damage.(from the previous owner)...
