1450 barely backup up after Neutral Adjust.

I just did this adjustment on my 1450 this morning. After adjusting the hydro lever to the cam plate the speed lever returned to neutral when the brake was depressed. But the hydro was whining quite a bit. I loosened the bolts for the cam plate adjustment and bumped it up about 1/4 inch. Works...

    New Kid on the Block

Wet snow is tough to move with a single stage blower without blockage. Some things I have done to help. Paint the auger housing and chute with graphite paint. Slip plate is what I used. Make sure the drive belt pulley is in line with the pto. Make sure the drive belt stays tight. The adjusting...

Soft shell cabs - wide frames

You don’t need to drill a hole in the fender if you have the bracket that mounts under the seat to hold the door shut. Mine doesn’t fog or rattle but it does shake when I go over uneven ground. It is a bit tight getting into and I’m only 5’10” 200 lbs. A big guy may have problems especially with...

    All Things Deer

What I have read is that if one antler is deformed it is likely due to injury. If both antlers are deformed it is probably genetics.

Parts Wanted NF windbreaker saddle brackets.

If I can’t find one I‘ll make one. Sorry about the Word document. The manual I have is a PDF and I don’t have the Adobe subscription to make edits. So I scanned the PDF to Bitmap to make the edits and saved in Word. I’m a bit out of date on my IT software.

Parts Wanted NF windbreaker saddle brackets.

I have a NF windbreaker that was missing the saddle brackets and door latches. I was able to find the latches on eBay but no saddle brackets. Anyone have some for sale?

147 Cub Cadet how Do I find out what PTO rebuild kit is correct?

There’s a cotter pin that keeps it from sliding out of the holes in the grill casting. If you use a puller to remove the pto you will need to remove the grill casting. I usually unscrew the turnbuckle on the rod to alllow the lever to go forward until it hits the casting. I then take a piece of...

147 Cub Cadet how Do I find out what PTO rebuild kit is correct?

when the PTO is engaged (no pressure) I would guess something is binding in the PTO which is allowing it to slip. Time to pull the PTO and check it out. Maybe just needs adjustment. While you have it out check the carbon fiber wear button and the metal thrust button for wear and replace them if...

    Throttle linkage On my 1450

Yes, choke cable on outside. The end has a zig- zag bend that goes in the hole on the choke linkage. You will need to remove the cable from the clamp to get the end in the hole.

147 Cub Cadet how Do I find out what PTO rebuild kit is correct?

Your PTO looks to be in good shape for an original. It’s hard to tell but maybe the fiber button in the throw out lever is worn down. There may have been metal to metal wear on the metal PTO button.

IH Windbreaker on the 149 Cub!

Terrence, I’d be interested in a back curtain. Mine has several tears in the window.

    Weight

I have 150 lbs of wheel weights for my QA-42 thrower. Works great with chains. I guess the thrower is around 100 lbs based on my “grunt factor” when I mount it on my 147.

    PTO trouble

The operators manual lists 10 amp fuses. If fuses are blowing check for a short in the wiring.

Starter generator belt wants to ride upside down

Pulley alignment on the SG is critical. I burned through a brand new belt in a matter of days. The SG was one I rebuilt with a replacement pulley. When I later checked the alignment I had installed the replacement pulley backwards which threw the alignment off.

Tractor For Sale Cub 1650 w/dual port and attachments

It’s still listed under Harrisburg Craigslists. If I had room I’d buy it (I have 4 runners and a fix up project tractor in the shed). Only about a half hour from me.

    Still having trouble

On my thrower the latch will hit on the shaft we’re the pulley is attached and prevent the pins from sliding all the way back unless I let the pulley down lower. May be that I’m using a shorter belt so the pulley is higher when the belt is tight?

    Still having trouble

I think you need to have the pulley at the lowest position for the QA lever to clear the pulley.

    147 hood latches

I used a wide foam door seal on mine. No more hood rattle and it makes a nice lip between the hood and the dash.

    147 from the 70's

Check to see if there is a slight gap between the thrust button (the button in the lever that pushes against the pto to disengage) and the pto button. Sometimes if there is a slight bit of pressure on the pto it will cause it to slip under load. If you still suspect your pto you should pull the...

    Had to make noise

I’ve had the same issue with drilling out stubborn set screws. You can easily tap them for a larger size set screw.
