Axles needed for a 1976 model 1650
I snapped the end off of the right side axle right at the side gear in the differential. This is the course spline type with the disk brake rotor welded to it. My 1936 Caterpillar Model 22
My dad was 1/2 owner and he gave me his half. Talked to his partner and he sold me his interest in it for $250.00. The bargain included a 6T tilt-bed trailer for it. The Cat sat in a field and hadn't been run for over 15 years. Took me a couple of hours of tinkering with to get it...- jlord

Hydro relief valve construction observations
Today I swapped my relief valves to diagnose my "no reverse". The right one was leaking out the top, I figured it was bad. Sure enough, now I have reverse and no forward. I know there is a fellow, much revered here and elsewhere, that refurbishes them. I'm not trying to take anything away...- jlord
